Tielemans isn't remotely what we need, he absolute sucks at pressing and when pressed, he's a total non-starter. Ward-Prowse might well have signed a 5 year deal with Saints to guarantee them a fee for him on account of him having been there since a child. you must be aware of numerous cases of players committing to a new long term deal not because they'll never move, but out of loyalty to the club to ensure they get a fee for them
"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”
Milner
Keita
Elliott
Thiago
Is this season about injured Central midfielders.
Perhaps in the next month or so VVD and Matip and TAA will be the midfield trio.
Or konate. Plays like ya ya. Seriously impressed today with him. United were putrid though. They are a terrible football team. Worse than we ever were in the 90s. About hodgsons level of Liverpool side. But with better individuals. The contrast in the 2 managers insights when they speak says it all. Ole dosent seem to understand the intricacies of the game at all.
The midfield now down to
Henderson Jones Oxlade
- I suppose Milner for a couple of weeks to a month.
- Keita who knows, likely back 31 December for afcon.
- Thiago ... after international break.
- Elliot ... idk
Fabinho.
Looking a bit short in midfield.
The Preston game should see some interesting team selection.
Kelleher Williams Morton Gomez Origi Minamino Phillips Tsiskas Oxlade most definitely starting
Plus a few u23/u18s
Dixon-Bonner probably too
Jota can also play LCM and RCM, I don't actually think Keita will be out for too long, his foot wasn't planted when Pogba lamped him, so probably a lot of bruising and swelling but nothing long term, that being the case a good opportunity for Keita to finally get over his being injured syndrome and man up, accept it's a knock and come back quickly and go from strength to strength from there

3 injuries to our midfield were avoidable.
Keita/Elliott bad challenges.
Jones had a knock yet that dipshit Eng U21 coach played him.
I mean next int window we need to put our foot down more with any carrying knocks.
In fairness Portugal handled Jota well whilst carrying a knock.
