    Last night was shite.
Personally in the "not looking good but still possible" camp - I think a loss to Chelsea would kill my hopes off to be honest, given Man City can win 8-10 games in a row when in the mood - huge challenge for us.

Hopefully still close when the Champion's League matches come around as their desperation to win that might create a result where they slip up, but we need to be ridiculously consistent now - might have to win 13 in a row or something daft.

A younger fitter squad with a fresh Virgil, Fabinho, Alisson and a peak Salah, Mané and Bobby could do that - just - and even that was when being mentality monsters and with Gini in the engine room.

    “Hopefully” is the right word.

One could be forgiven for suggesting that shockingly poor investment since summer 2019 has left us totally reliant on an over worked Virgil, Fabinho and Alisson, and a very angry man (head has gone but can’t be dropped) in Mané.

The shadow of Bobby Firmino has been covered by Jota tbf but that is about it.

All that really stands between us and Manchester fekin United, Spurs or Arsenal - is Mohamed Salah’s blistering form.

He hasn’t signed a contract yet and is about to go to the AFCON.

Again - “Hopefully” is the right word.

Almost feel like bumming the league now and going all in for the CL & Carabao - but in all honesty - a top side will probably do us.

We need more from Klopp himself. Needs to be more ruthless and innovative to meet the challenges of this season.

We'll have to ride through January under pressure, deal with afcon and crack on.

There were grave tactical errors in the spurs game, we did lose a few to covid and captain fantastic to a common cold, which saw morton deployed as a sole 6 with spurs playing an 8-2.
No need to revert to the 433 setup in midfield that night. We were cut open numerous times and it was tough on Morton.

Last night we saw a dour performance granted but again no reason to deploy a 433 against 2 strikers. Playing Hendo as a 10 and ox as the gritty centre mid in our 3... Playing with less width that in a 42X system against a bus like Leicester.

Advantage to city and we need them to mess up and us to get back on it. A tall order granted, could be done by mid February and a city procession, or we'll be close enough to compete.
    Big weeks ahead.

So the gulf can sow up the English top league with a 2 horse race year in year out with Newcastle’s acquisition by Saudi.

What a shit show. That’s what happens when you sell out totally. Football clubs should never be owned by anyone from over seas IMO but to be owned by a state is simply taking the pish.

Yeah the only bit of joy would be to see The Toon get relegated.

at least chelsea are playing a day later and picking up a few injury's

We might be able to do it, big ask though. they've not been great themselves lately though so maybe it'll be ok.

all I know is we need to win to have a chance otherwise might aswell give up on the title

I'd like a midfield 3 of Fabinho, Henderson and Thiago.

Being State-owned is a massive problem and it will get worse.

Inter Milan are on the verge of being owned by Saudi State, anticipated announcement in the coming couple of days unless something falls through.

That's a proper, storied Club as well, not some Mickey Mousers. The ripple effect of it will certainly be felt.

Are we sure this game will go ahead ?

Tuchel saying they have covid plus injuries.

As I said weeks ago it is open for cheating and Thomas Frank was right the whole league should have shut down for 1-2 weeks.
