Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century
Liverpool have rewarded striker Diogo Jota with a new and improved contract after his impressive start to life at Anfield.
The 25-year-old Portugal international has scored 34 goals in 85 appearances since joining the Reds from Wolves in 2020.
Jota had three years remaining on his previous Liverpool contract but has put pen to paper on a long-term extension which is understood to run until 2027.
That's a surprise as I had a long time left
maybe his agent wanted a pay rise after salah?
#FSGOUT
we are liverpool football club, not fucking norwich.
Could be a factor of course, but that's a price of giving out whopping contracts. Plenty of fans wanted Salah extended when he was linked with £400k and £500k per-week requests and you'll always get other players wanting a wage increase if there's a huge disparity.
Irrespective of that speculation, it's a great move. The age profile of some of our attacking players looks really healthy -
Jota - 25
Diaz - 25
Núñez - 23
Carvalho - 19
- with our other two attacking lads still "only" 30 rather than being 33+ sort of age. If our next attacking target is 25-or-younger we're absolutely laughing - and who is to say we don't let Firmino's contract run down to bring someone in for next season so they can all develop together while Salah is still at the club?
Anyone still looking for a new Couts..?

Manchester United have approached Bayern Munich about the availability of 26-year-old former Manchester City forward Leroy Sane. (Mirror)
Liverpool are also interested in submitting a bid for the Germany winger. (Liverpool Echo)
What went wrong for Sane at City?
I never understood that. He always played well against us, and i used to hope he wouldn't be in their starting line up.
Was he a bellend in the dressing room, or not tracking back, or injury prone?
I am totally convinced this is true
Liverpool are keen on a swap deal for Inter Milan's Croatia midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, 29, with Brazil forward Roberto Firmino, 30, or Guinea midfielder Naby Keita heading the other way. (Calciomercato - in Italian)
Do swap deals ever really happen though?
