FSG are excellent at running a sporting business but profits will ALWAYS come before success on the pitch.

While the latter certainly aids the former, it is not their driving motivation, it’s always gonna be the $$$

You just look on how we do deals.. Its all about saving money and not splashing cash.. Klopp wanted Milner for another season. The only way he was allowed to remain is if he lowered his wage demands.
Ox is on way more money than Minamino. So Minamino was let go first.. We were never gonna accept 4/5 million for Oxlade.. Because other clubs are never going to pay 10 millon+ his massive wages
You may as well keep Oxlade as player in the squad

We have needed an extra midfielder since Wijnaldum left at the end of the season prior to last season. We are simply not allowed to buy TWO expensive players in one season.. Thats only happened once and that was on the back of selling Coutinho.
Theres no reason we couldnt have bought Nunez and 50+ million for another centre midfielder. Its not like we don't have the money.

We saw how owners behaved over the pandemic. wanted to furlough the staff so they didnt have to pay.. No doubt the money came from money that was needed to sign players.
Not a penny was coming out of their pockets..But with them owning the club.. all the wealth is theirs. the debt goes onto the club and the income made by the players and Klopp pays off the debt first..

That’s the difference between Abramovich and Mansour v FSG, they will do what it takes for the glory of winning. Whereas FSG will only spend what the club produces, while leaving them a substantial profit.

I doubt anyone wants us to act like PSG,Man-city or Chelsea. Its not like we can't afford players thats the problem.
Its a sad state of affairs that theres "no money" to get a midfielder. what a lot of nonsense that is

No, I agree we don’t but it’s what we are up against, with owners who won’t even spend what we can afford to support the best manager in World football.
It’s not as if our recruitment team are wasteful in any way.

As previously discussed, Miller, they do not work with or for profits. The model is improving the value of the asset. Every penny is spent on the club - wages, transfer fees and stadium improvement.

    No profits.

The only two options would be

    1) ‘spend their own money’

    2) debt

As I understand it the Glazers have been drawing profits in recent years - one of the current gripes held against them by the supporters. But they also have enormous debt and a stadium that needs renewal (and a squad that needs replacing).

What Klopp doesn’t say there is if he’s asked for some of his midfielders to be sold or moved on to make way for new blood. That would be interesting to know.

Taskin can i ask you a question?? you were admiring how Liverpool have over come Man-united finacially and you'd never thought that would happen. If LFC are a multi billion organization now.. where is the money to buy a midfield.its bizarre..

There must have been money for a midfielder , it was well known we were in for Tchouameni. Or did we splurge all of that budget and more on Nunez.

Taksin, you are being rather naive for a man of your apparent intelligence.
Or are you JWH and I claim my Ł5?
