No point arguing it mate. Despite the small sample size - stats will be thrown at you to try and tell you that what you have witnessed isn’t actually so.😉
The panel are struggling to say why he deserved MOTM as they watch back the misses…and they nail it,. As a defender - you don’t want to face Darwin.. so while his finishing is often tripe - he looks a good buy
2 things can both be true

Did anyone compare their technique?
Or did they compare goal-scoring rate?
There are lads out there who don't have impeccable first touch for example but get goals - Inzaghi was one. People thought he was a Donkey in terms of watching him - not a "footballer's footballer" like a Baggio/Messi/Maradona/Suarez/Ronaldinho - but he just kept scoring.
Núñez isn't a finished article - nor should he be if we look at his career - only 2 seasons at Benfica and an interrupted half-season with Liverpool.
He's a 23-year old with NINE goals in the Champion's League who is (so far) getting a goal or assist in the majority of his games for us.
I'm very encouraged by some of the above. He has all the time in the World ahead of him.
Just need to go back and read. We were talking about that exact thing. Sci was comparing him to both Luis and Mo… Mo is and always was a winger bTw but Luis.
Luis was running games in Holland before he even arrived at a very weak Liverpool
Sure but you seem to be getting so upset at people mentioning Darwin’s poor finishing. Surely you have noticed that it’s less than you would expect for a player costing half as much? It has been poor on many occasions this season. Regardless of the goals he has scored. Mo himself is profligate / using his goals scored stat won’t prove for or against. Klopp’s teams generate tons of chances for players.
This isn’t Rafa’s side or that mess of a team Luis Suarez walked into.
Nunez can be both an excellent buy and also a player that needs to work hard on his technique. I think both are true
Couldn't believe he got MOTM. But at least it will be good for his confidence .
He really really needs a goal and you would think against Leicester at home should be ideal for him.
I get just as frustrated as everyone else but if he can improve his finishing… wow we have a player. He gets multiple chances every single time he plays, whether he starts or not, guaranteed.
His goal involvement rate is astonishingly high considering the number of chances he fluffs.
It's probably more a case of Devil's Advocate and a hatred of the development of strong narratives. Habit of mine I suppose.
If it feels like the majority of the forum points out FSG's flaws, I'll point out their good points to balance it.
If it feels like half the forum / social media think Darwin's a dud buy, I'll point out the positives and the length of time on his contract he has to put things right.
Equally if there is unanimous, glowing praise for a player, I'm probably the sort to point out what I don't like about their game.
It's not for the sake of being contrary - at least I don't think it is- moreso a pet peeve about how quickly narratives can form.
It wouldn't take a lot for a chunk of our fanbase to be on Darwin's case before he has even played 30 games for us and I despise that, especially when I see so many positives. Time will tell if I am simply wearing blinkers on the issue (I thought Borini looked a prospect and it never happened for him) or if Núñez comes good - but I think he is doing well overall and also feel that the criticism would be significantly reduced if his fee wasn't so large and if the media didn't want to compare him against Haaland.
Luis was playing in what was considered a relatively poor Dutch league.
It would be interesting to see what people were posting on match days, if ever possible, about Luis when he first arrived here, with reference to missed chances.
Same for mo and Sadio.
Nunes appeared to be a LWF to me at benfica.
Was he ripping up that league?
