As to Lavia - I think £60m for a teenager of his level is bad business in isolation at this moment in time. Perhaps he will justify it in future, but I think it's way above what we should be paying.
Our OVERALL business as a package? If you'd told me we would get 3 young mids in for £155m and offset some of that outlay by selling a couple of the older players (Fabinho has clocked up the minutes of some 35-year olds) I think I would have taken it - so I won't complain too much. If the Mac Allister fee was £60m and Lavia £35m it would be better, but there's no getting away from the shit circumstances around this deal and it would have been great if we had handled things better - whether that is on Jorg Schmadtke or John Henry or Billy Hogan or whoever.
A left-sided centre-back would make a "pretty decent" (overall) window a "very good" one for me - but that is entirely subjective and others are totally entitled to see it differently.
