Well it's not rocket science, each club needs to lay it to the players, if they want to move they need to decide, only 2 weeks extra..... either stay or go.. but after prem transfer closes that's it

Write it into players contracts like a release clause, if you leave outside our window you pay us 20% of the fee.

If you can get players from Liverpool or Man United - the two biggest historical teams in "the best League in the World" - then it sends a message about your power and as it happens Man United aren't riddled with players that clubs would want.

Furthermore (and people can call me paranoid of they wish) we are a Champion's League rival to Newcastle (Saudi owners) and Chelsea (Clearlake involved, Saudis partially involved with Clearlake) so by weakening us it would weaken a threat to projects they're involved in - particularly Newcastle.

Indeed. Selling Salah at this stage of the window would be beyond detrimental. Even if we got £250m or something, we could do very little with it in the remaining days in a world where lads like Declan Rice go for over £100m.
