Ryan Gravenberch makes his first start for Liverpool in tonight’s Europa League fixture with LASK in Austria.

The midfielder is named in the XI for the first time since his transfer from Bayern Munich on deadline day, while Ben Doak is also handed his full debut for the Reds.

Elsewhere at Raiffeisen Arena, Stefan Bajcetic returns to the line-up, as does Virgil van Dijk following suspension.

There are also starts for Wataru Endo, Caoimhin Kelleher and Ibrahima Konate in Linz......

Bajcetic is the inverted full back, interesting....

I think it means he will play as a deep lying mid, when we are in possession, but if there is a transition then he will drop to centre back and Konate will cover on the right. that is how we have tweaked it with Trent so that he could drop back in the centre instead of having to run half way across the pitch if there was suddenly an attack down our right.
But if the opposition have a period of possession, who will be sitting at 'right back'?

Yep, the way the team is listed, suggest it'll be Bajcetic in the hybrid role and he's certainly young enough to try it.
Doesn't hurt that he was a defender before being moved into midfield.....

Glad we're not playing are strongest in the europa then, I think klopp isn't bothered until later in the competition if we make it.

LASK shouldn't be overlooked tonight. They have only lost one of their last 16 matches in all European competitions (W11, D4), a 1-4 defeat to Slavia Prague in last season’s Europa Conference League.

At home, the Austrian side are unbeaten in eight in Europe (W5, D3) since losing 0-2 to Royal Antwerp in the Europa League in November 2020.
