We apparently have a buy back clause on Solanke, would anyone take him?? Keep Nunez and play him on left and sadly let Diaz leave.. I dunno on that last bit though.. Just wondering what people thought on dominic solanke

He really is excelling. He always had the physical attributes but, as often happens, didn’t shine. Seems to have a good attitude and I’m sure LFC will have treated him well. I seem to recall he was out for a bit injured which may have hampered his progress. He certainly can find the net, which , whilst a younger player he always could.
We should keep Diaz ! As well

Solanke is looking great and he might be on the verge of develop into a seriously good option - if the buy-back fee was reasonable I can understand the temptation, especially with Homegrown rules and all that.

I would counter that somewhat though with the fact he has something like 10 Premier League goals (ever) prior to this season, which isn't a lot for a 26-year old. He was tearing it up in the Championship with Bournemouth at one stage and some may feel that's a strong enough League to trust that he can sustain his development, but it could also be a purple patch like what we have seen with someone like Rashford before and thus it might be worth waiting for a better forward option - not to mention that the Matip and Thiago "replacements" are potentially a bigger priority.

Where are you getting this info from? I’ve read articles saying that no buy back was inserted. Just a decent sell on.

As for the player, I’d have him back in a heartbeat but he seems like a confidence type who needs to play every week and I’m not sure he’d be that at Liverpool

In a world where 18 year old Doak is "never going to make it" (and 24 year old Nunez for that matter) I can't see why anyone would suddenly want a 26 year old who has done nothing of note until this season. Why not go all out and re-sign Rhian Brewster as well for when he comes good?

Some players aren't made for the so called top teams, Solanke for me is one of them. He should stay were he is ,play every week and become a club legend.

I don't have info regarding the buy-back clause - haven't found anything concrete on it - when I say "if the buy-back is reasonable" I probably should have added "IF" in the "if it exists" context as well - I see it mentioned a lot, but nothing concrete, therefore am not assuming.

The 20% clause I think is confirmed though. Now that doesn't mean we would get £12m if he went for £60m (totally made-up fee) - we would get 20% of any profit. So if we use the £60m example and we sold him for £19m, we would get 20% of the £41m profit made by the selling club - that is (to my understanding) how all of these 10% or 20% clauses you read about with us work.

    Hope this clears it up.

Yes I’m fully aware the sell on percentage is on the profit not the full transfer fee.
