I really like Williams & Amoura our forward line needs a tidy up & re-invigorating we’re two players light for our LFWD & RFWD positions for me & have 3 in Jota Nunez & Gakpo who are better suited to No9 or false 9

Diaz is 27 not as good as when be bought him & not going to improve

If Mo stays around it might be just for next season & he doesn’t have that electric pace anymore

Mine too by a distance, he was our best forward under Klopp, & for me at least it was criminal to see him marginalised to a degree to focus our play more around Mo as much as we did, his returns considering the much lesser service he received thereafter remained excellent

They provided the money to LFC to build the main stand, an interest free loan.

Which wasn't appreciated at the time nor was it appreciated when the club borrowed not from fsg to build the latest expansion.

It was NEVER an interest free loan. It was a low rate but did come with interest AND had to be paid back at Record speed!

The club pays for it all. THIS is 100% the problem and one you continue to defend from across the sea.

We HAVE paid interest on both developments all of which has had to hit what we could put on the pitch…

    See below:

Liverpool are nearing the end of their Anfield Road Stand expansion project and the £200 million plus cost was paid for by the club and not owners FSG.

The Athletic's David H. asked journalist James Pearce why it was the club bearing the expense and not the owners:

What is the excuse for FSG making the club pay for the infrastructure upgrades rather than paying for them themselves? The people who benefit most from the improved infrastructure are the owners, who have seen the value of their asset rise significantly. That £200million-plus should have been invested in the team instead.

James Pearce answered: "It comes down to FSG’s self-sustaining business model for Liverpool. Throughout their tenure, they’ve been clear that they wouldn’t take money out of the club (like the Glazers at Manchester United), but neither would they inject their own cash (like Sheikh Mansour at Manchester City).

"With the Main Stand, the new training facility at Kirkby and the Anfield Road redevelopment, that’s in excess of £250million invested in the club’s infrastructure over the past seven years. Yes, it increases the value of FSG’s assets, but it also benefits the manager, the players and the fans."

    AND Also:

James Pearce, of The Athletic, gave fans the opportunity to ask him questions of which he presented the answers in his Liverpool mailbag.

A fan asked: “Is the Anfield Road extension now pretty much paid for? How much extra revenue is it expected to generate?”

Firstly, Pearce revealed how much it would cost and how it’s going to be spread out.

“The £80million ($97m) cost of the Anfield Road redevelopment is being spread out. The recently published accounts for last season showed that total investment in tangible assets for that period was £23.4m. I’d expect to see another sizeable chunk of the cost in the next set of accounts,”

He then went on to explain how the Anfield Road stand is being funded, and how the Main Stand expansion, in 2016, is different.

“Liverpool are using their existing banking facilities to pay for it rather than what happened with the new £110m Main Stand in 2016 where FSG provided a low-interest loan which is being gradually repaid. The outstanding balance for that currently stands at £71.4m.”

The interest free bollox was how they spun it from the outset.. Then as is so often the case with FSG - the truth gets revealed peacemeal and eeks out over time to little or no effect. The minions completely missing the trick time and time again

    From the echo:

    https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-repay-10million-fsg-main-15799492

Liverpool FC have repaid £10million of the £110million loan from owners Fenway Sports Group for the building of Anfield's new Main Stand.

The latest accounts for the year to May 31 2018 show that the first repayment on the inter-company loan from the club’s holding company UKSV Holdings Company Limited has been made. The balance now stands just below £100million.

FSG took out the loan in America to finance the stadium redevelopment. Two years ago accounts showed that the interest rate payable was 1.24% and that has since gone up to 2.4%.

Liverpool insist it was the cheapest and most efficient way to borrow the money required to build the new Main Stand, which increased capacity to around 54,000 when it opened in September 2016.

Read the reaction to LFC's accounts announcement and build up to Klopp's press conference here

Andy Hughes, Liverpool's chief operating officer, told the ECHO: “We've followed the plan we said we would follow and repaid some capital on the Main Stand loan.

“We've said previously it's backed by a loan in the US and there is a notional interest charge.

“How much is repaid each year will be agreed on an annual basis with FSG. We want to keep paying that level of capital down.

    ———————————————

They think we’re all schmucks.. “notional” interest. Yea so you lied to the fans. First it was - you will have t pay us back for the cost of the stand BUT (In a laid back New England accent) here’s the great part Liverpoolerrs - we are heroes because (gulp) we won’t ask for any interest… Isn’t that charitable of us..?

And then - actually no - we have to pay it back - and absolutely WITH interest subject to continued rises too - AND what was termed as “gradual” payment is actually a huge chunk of any extra revenue generated.

The club benefiting only marginally from its own payments to facilitate MASSIVE profit generation to the owners in spiralling club value - cashed in as leverage. It's all about how good Liverpool FC looks on paper. On a cash flow sheet.. There is more than a whiff of the goose being fattened up here - not with titles, but like United - as a cash generator.

A stadium with corporate seats out of all proportion to capacity - again marginal benefits for the fans. The real fans.

Klopp has masked them so incredibly well. Slot and the other 3 who will all be trying to do what one man did - will have a big job

They provided the capital for LFC to build the main stand, saving quite a bit of cash in the process.
As said people didn't appreciate that and next time round they sought a loan elsewhere. Which will put more pressure on the club to pay that new loan down quicker.

I see steveo is triggered into moaning that the owners are making money.

For me cheaper matchday tickets should have been argued for by fan groups as part of the ESL push. Sadly that opportunity to upend football was wasted. Status quo remains (to borrow a 19 phrase)

As it stands, the fan group seems to want LFC to be no1 but without any of the associated costs, whether ticket prices as part of revenue or taking part in cringe docuseries for streaming cash.

As it stands the PL divvy money up fairly to benefit the league, but allowed City and Chelsea to have dumped loads of cash into their clubs, upending the same fairness principle. Socialism for the clubs & capitalism for the owners.

It's funny how wealthy people are so greedy they build up such wealth, whereas the poor or less wealthy spend their money so benevolently...
