Wonderful player and to this day I do not know WTF happend with his contract.
I blame Edwards for that,, he wasnt willing to give Gini more money,, which he deserved, and it cost us big time for numerous seasons.

Hopefully none, but sure there will be some interest at the paltry Ł20m quoted.

I wonder how many clubs would be interested in buying Alisson?

None because he's not going anywhere

Wijnaldum was reported to have wanted Ł150k-per-week and we wanted to "evolve" the side whilst moving on one or two before their decline so that the main core group all didn't need replacing at once.

We had Thiago for the "evolution" aspect and unfortunately due to injuries it didn't work - but let's be real here, Wijnaldum (as good as he was) seemingly had a serious drop-off in quality and consistency when he departed, so we probably called it right in terms of him moving on - the failure aspect was in not getting the "replacement" side of things 100%.

Replacing Wijnaldum with Thiago was akin to, in catastrophic terms, to General Custer pissing off the neighbours of Pakistan in 1876....

Surely Thiago was never his replacement...? At least I hope that was never the intention. That would be ridiculous if so.

To fix the litany of errors and penny pinching after winning number 6 and 19..

    1. Don't sell Lovren without a replacement.

    2. Give Gini his well deserved contract

    3. Hendo to squad (his level imo )

    4. Virgil to Captain

Defend title and win the Quadruple..

On the "evolve" statement ... Well Sid...IF bringing in an injury prone player (albeit a brilliant one) at nigh on 30 years of age qualifies as Evolution.. then maybe some FSG PR is pulling a few chains.

We could have brought in a player like Granit Xhaka AND a Thiago I guess... but still - once you lose the gymnastic & dynamo like brilliance of Gini - that rather pedestrian midfield gets pulled about. Thiago and Fabinho managing to hold the fort for the end of that title defence season and somehow drag us into the CL spots. Both doing amazingly well the following season too - our highest. ever win ratio... but at what cost..?

No - we were always at least 1 senior mid short - on top of being short of a genuine reliable senior CB cover for long spells and the entire title defence season.

Not giving Gini what he deserved was a crime.

Hmm quite a few goals he should have saved, but made up for it other times....

Mistake to let him leave, if he actually wants to leave and play all the time, who'd stop him from doing that? fair enough to him, he deserves it..... why does anyone want to be #2 whole career? he's still a young lad for a GK deserves a career, not the bench.

hopefully allison doesn't pick up many injurys..... seems to be very injury prone for a gk

we need to finally sell phillips before his contract expries..... and sort trents out ffs
