Liverpool have reportedly touched base with Suttgart defender Waldemar Anton over a £19m transfer.

Bild says the Reds are admirers of the 27-year-old, with the club's supposed interest first reported earlier this week.

The report claims Liverpool are now making advancements towards the centre-back, who is said to have a £19m release clause.

Stuttgart probably like selling to us for numbers in the teens...

They finished 3rd from bottom of the Bundesliga (33pts) the season before last only just avoiding relegation.

Makes sense. It was a bit odd being linked with players before Slot was officially in the job and well before the window even opened. I like to think he would assess the players we already have first.

With all respect to feyenoord Arne will be like a kid on Xmas morning when he has his first training session with our squad. Sure it can always be improved but he may just keep the warchest closed until he appreciates what he already has to work with.
