Tbf achieving 99 points is the exception not the rule, we were bloody amazing that year… I have just googled what the average is for winning the Premiership and it comes back as a more modest 87 points…. so against that 69 points doesnt sound quite as bad, still poor though.

However much the drop off was disappointing and frustrating in equal measure, I am sure the mitigating circumstances surrounding it, namely injuries to our CB’s and the resulting knock on effects of that impacting our midfield set-up, it at least goes some way to excuse that drop off, I think City blamed their similar 18 point drop off on their Premier League defence, on failing to replace one player, namely Vincent Kompany in the Transfer window prior to that season..

You say it's the exception, but we achieved 90+ on 3 occasions over the last 7 years.

That's absolutely mad.

Even last season, 82pts would have been enough to win the league on more than a few occasions.

I wonder what the average pts required if you removed Ourselves and City from the last 8 years?

Cant see many teams winning the league with less than 90pts whilst City are so dominant.

Isak being linked to chelsea is a very scary thought if he ends up there, this is what i mean other teams get better, and catch up whilst we're drifting away from the top 2

before we know it we'll be fighting for 4th again then in the europa, FSG can't carry on unless they start spending some money, it's simple as that.

but it's ok, we've got nunez who's smashing them in against league 1 standard teams
