Flip, you're right - if only we could spend money like Man United - their transfer strategy over the last decade of over-spending on players, handing out over-inflated wages before players have earned them and continuing to ignore key holes in the squad had been a roaring success.
We do spend - in our case we prioritise wages to keep the squad together - hence a £366m-per-year wage bill in 22/23 - but I get that this doesn't excite like shiny new toys. Though if you like new players, we bought FOUR midfielders not very long ago - one of them currently a Copa America and World Cup holder, acquired for much less than an 18-year old player who might become the next Ferdinand or might become the next Mangala.
Prefer our strategy to theirs - massively.
