Bad news at Old Trapdoor:
Manchester United's new Ł52m defender Leny Yoro has been ruled out for three months and striker Rasmus Hojlund will miss six weeks with injuries they suffered in Saturday’s pre-season game with Arsenal.
Sources confirmed the news just over an hour before United’s 3-2 victory over La Liga side Real Betis in San Diego.
Both men were forced off in the first half of the 2-1 defeat at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
Yoro was filmed at United’s training base at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), on Tuesday wearing a protective boot and using crutches.
That sparked fears of a major injury and those concerns have now been realised, with 18-year-old Yoro set to be out until the end of October.
That would mean he misses nine Premier League games, including matches against Liverpool, Tottenham and Aston Villa, and the start of United’s Europa League and Carabao Cup campaigns.
Yoro will have further tests when he returns to the UK to determine the precise extent of the problem, although he will stay with the United party for the remainder of their US trip, which concludes against Liverpool in Columbia, South Carolina, on Saturday.
Hojlund scored United’s opener at the weekend but he succumbed to a hamstring problem and will be sidelined until after the September international break, meaning he will miss the Liverpool game at Old Trafford on 1 September.

Certainly happier to have 60,000 - rather than a mere 45,000 seats.
BUT if I want an extra bedroom in my house - it takes a decade to realise, is built in a totally unsympathetic way making the house look like a dogs dinner & is mainly only available to wealthy guests - it’s a crying shame. 😜
The driving force behind the club being sold to predatory investors was the very need to have a 21st century ground. 20 years and 2 Yank owners later - and we aren’t even half way there.
But for the interlude of greatness by Klopp to deflect fro the reality many more would be focussing on this detritus.
It’s a very very poor effort from billionaire owners who have not put in a single penny of their own into the project - BUT who have increased their personal wealth by a factor of 10 since they took ownership for the price of the cowboys debt!
Do you think Anfield looked better before the redevelopment ? It sounds like you preferred the mere 45k styling.
I've only spent a small bit of time around anfield a few years back, the main stand was done at that time. For me the stadium was a shining beacon in what looked like a rather run down part of the city. Out by the shankly gates the area looked very rundown up to that petrol station. Was nicer at the back of the main stand, the red brick houses there looked better kept with a little green area. Kid opted for the tate so only got see Anfield for a few minutes. So didn't get around the other 2 sides.
When I've attended Sporting events, I've never really paid too much attention to the stadium. Just a means to a seat to see the game.
