Overall the 76,000 fans will have enjoyed the game.

Enjoying Slotball so far but not seen our main players fit in yet so very very early days.

Unbeaten on tour, back to Anfield on the 11th for me to see them in the flesh.

I will, of course, report back, in full.

My impression from that game and the whole preseason tour is that we have a great squad depth, very talented players in all positions all over the pitch. Pretty inspiring, when you consider who hasn't returned to the team yet.
Not sure about Endo, he is tenacious and likes a tackle, but he gets caught in possession and often gives the ball away. Don't think he will be our starting 6 when the prem season kicks in.

There will be teething issues with some of the passing-under-pressure for a while - will probably cost us points.

But if we get good enough at it, we'll eventually give opposition a headache -

- "Do we press Liverpool and they pass it through us and end up with their forwards against our exposed back line?"
- "Do we give Liverpool space that they can work with?"

- which will be good for us. Very much worth it in the long run. Can see us going for "another Mac Allister" to replace Endo in time, rather than pursuing a Masch/Makelele type for this reason.

There is some very good ‘next level’ football developing under Slot. Yes I know it’s only Pre season friendly etc… but still.

It is a different approach to Klopp’s. Not massively but it is different - dare I say it, a more compete form of the game. It would be magic if we could become adept enough at it to mount a title challenge with this style. Not expecting that at all this season.

But the early signs are very encouraging.

Pre-season results don't matter. That is a fact. We won 1 out of 5 the season we went on to win the Premier League. They aren't indicators of how the season goes on......

However... what these results have done is (as somebody earlier said) is stop any unnecessary pressure building on the team and new manager. Three defeats would have had the prophets of doom lining up before that kick off in Ipswich.

Full squad should be back together Tuesday and now Slot has to get the rest of them up to speed. Onwards, Reds....
