The point being - without the gifts from Rafa and the fortune “luck” - the owners who got the club “for a steal” would never have spent the money needed to get the players needed to win a single major trophy - even with the best manager on the planet in situ.

The new owners, they were lucky because we sold Torres for 50m. Then after was Luis Suarez and after was Coutinho. So they have money to spend. If not, you have to spend a lot of money that Chelsea, Man City spend. They don't need to bring money, they spend money.

All of these stars aligning for NESV/F$G who were then gifted the club in a closed bid and “for a steal” - ‘just clear the debt’ left by the last US leeches - signed and rubbed stamped by friend and fellow Yank Bob Diamomd - who just happened to be the CEO at Barclays as the deal went through.

So in either sense your claim that there is “ no mention of never spending money to win trophies” is another direct falsification of the truth. It’s implicit - Rafa does not believe that we have the spend to compete (this is winning those trophies) without the gifts mentioned.
