At least ten or more teams play against us in that manner every season. We should be used to the tactics by now.
The main concern is, can we break these teams down?
Some of our players can be exhausted from the international games, and travelling. Do our players have the expertise to defeat the low block?

This problem has existed for a few years now. The manager and the players need to change things up instead of doing the same things over and over again expecting a different result to occur.

Another problem we've had for years is that our midfield doesn't add enough in terms of goals and the ability to get in behind the backline of a well organised and resolute defence.

We’ve had that problem since Gerrard left the club. Never replaced his goals.

I’m at the Bologna game in early October for my sins. Thing is - any kind of win is a bonus so low are my expectations - I can actually enjoy any kind of win this season.
Played nobody but did drop points away to newly promoted clubs under Jurgen a few times. Ipswich as the opener could've been a banana skin on another day. Then beat Brentford by a few goals at home, who've just kept the final score to a 2-1 defeat away to City.
I think with it being so early in a season, there's less injuries for the smaller clubs. Which is reflected when facing them in terms of intensity and fitness of their play. We may well have battered Forest if they'd come to Anfield in say,January amidst them being in a possible relegation fight.
A lot of posters have identified issues with Slot's system following this defeat. The one thing he can control is how quickly him and coaches solve those issues.

An interesting stat from yesterday is that we had twice as many players away on international duty than any other prem club.
In hindsight Mac and maybe Diaz could have been on the bench for Jones and Gakpo. Forest at home is a game where you would expect to able to make some changes like that.

I’m surprised Chiesa wasn’t on the bench for a 10 min cameo.

Maybe Slot thought he wouldn’t be needed.

We miss a player like Suarez in games like these. he could turn on a sixpence.everything was always passing in front of the opposition yesterday. not easy to break down teams when they play that deep and then close a player down with another opposition player just off so even when your player evades one ,theres another to close that space.
Add to the constant pretending to fall over and time wasting it wasnt going to be easy.. In fact. I fucking despised how Forest behaved yesterday.. If that doesn't motivate us to get back winning ways nothing will

Szoboszlai is to passive for me... he always needs to pass the ball. just do something different like a jinking run and take a shot... he was the biggest let down yesterday..

Trent wasn’t wide for enough of the game either

He can play some quality balls through midfield which would be brilliant if we still have a prime Mane & Mo but we don’t

The best use of Trent is still predominantly as right side full back making the play & expanding the play with top quality switches & racking up assists with crosses

I think he’s going to go to Real on a free & he can sign an agreement in January & I don’t see why we use him as he wants to play if he’s leaving when we don’t have another player to use like that after he’s gone Just use him for what is best for the team moving forward he won’t be kart if next season

I said it repeatedly last season & throughout the summer, we don’t have the star quality in our forward line anymore, we needed to add to it with more than Chiesa we needed a top top forward who the opposition needed two players trying to pick up who can go past players & leave them for dead when released & from a standing start

We no longer have a forward except maybe Chiesa when he eventually plays who can stand a player up go by them & leave them for dead not one forward who can take on and beat their man comfortably & regularly as Mane & Mo once could and it’s a problem as you’re right you do need at LEAST one of those players at LEAST ONE
