Back on topic - Madrid derby at the Wanda.

Real were winning 1:0 BUT a 94th minute Atleti equaliser does arrive. after a VAR intervention.

Modric went off on 86 minutes and frankly I felt Real’s passing and control went down a level - did feel like the equaliser might happen - and here it is. Now Lorentz has been sent off - not an easy game for the officials

Don't think he would do much worse - it feels like they have played the same mind-numbingly dull, look-best-on-counters footie for most of the 11 years it's been since they won the title.

The fact they've assembled a £600m team from Temu to play at the Theatre of Streams (of fan tears) is a joy.

They'll eventually get it right of course by hiring someone who can coach expansive football and doing some decent scouting/recruitment whilst paying out more sensible contracts to keep players hungry - but it isn't happening in a hurry, so long may we enjoy it.

Still - for them to do worse than our 30-year drought we will need to reach 2042 which is still ages away. We managed to win Big Ears twice during our drought - will they?

Not sure who they can hire in the short-term to make Ten Hag's 18/19 (that the right year?) Ajax side a force on the World stage again. They have been very lucky to remain in European comps often enough since Fergie's day to never really "go away" but it will be interesting to monitor given how well some of the other sides in the League are doing. Through one means or another, sides like Tottenham, Brighton, Aston Villa and Newcastle are all becoming increasingly competitive as well as the usual suspects.

Here is a lovely little list - it's the number of times Man United have conceded three goals in a game since Fergie's retirement in 2013 -

    Moyes - 5 times in 51 games (9.8%)
    Van Gaal - 8 times in 103 games (7.7%)
    Mourinho - 7 times in 144 games (4.9%)
    Solskjaer - 14 times in 168 games (8.3%)
    Ten Hag - 23 times in 123 games (18.7%)

    Just beautiful.

Not football related but Billy Joel is playing Anfield next June 21st. If you've not seen him get yourself there. He's fantastic.

I answered you in more detail on the other thread
Post the data please. I've addressed this before.

I picked since fsg took over as a point in time of note for analysing our spend under fsg.

When you posted gross spend since 2000, I pointed out that we'd outspent real on both net & grosss since FSG took over.
That the gap that exists is down to pre-fsg spending.

This gloating over the current problems at old Trafford will end in tears. We're not world beaters. It's 50 / 50 who wins the league next out of us and them
