I'd like to think that anybody who has watched us and has a modicum of sense knows that we needed a top quality, mobile DM, a good quality CB and possibly a decent LB given that Robertson is on the wane.

Like you said, Chiesa was nothing more than a token signing. If Chiesa isn't a success FSG, or should I say 'we' lose little money, and if he's a success FSG are made out to be geniuses, and they now have an asset that they could sell for a tidy profit.

Think it's too early to know what we are, never mind what we need

Take the midfield alone, outside of lfc fan base, others are talking about Grav as player of the season. Dominant in a double pivot role.
With slotball outside of Grav, MacA & Sobozla not many others have featured. Endo on occasion, Jones too, and Jota 1 game in efl Cup at 10.
On paper, I'd like to see more of Sobolza & Jones in the deeper double pivot role.
I have said on more than 1 occasion Gakpo needs a game in the 10 role. Think he'd thrive in the role.
