We've only looked great in small patches and we certainly haven't been good for the whole ninety minutes of any game this season. With that being the case do you think we'll continue accruing points at our current rate if we continue to put in similar performances?

Weren't amazing, won anyway - something we used to say of Fergie's lot all the time. Sick of us outplaying the opposition but coming away with a draw or being on the wrong side of a sucker-punch defeat.

We were by far the better side in the 08/09 title race for example, but their lot won loads of 1-0 matches without being at the races and raised their level when required.

4 toughest League matches of the season (on paper) will be the fixtures against Man City and Arsenal. If we get 6 of the 12 available points there and continue to win more of our matches against "the rest" than not, then we will go close.

Will take the win. I do feel we need to rest+rotate certain lads a little better (Szoboszlai for one) but I'm sure it will come eventually as it would be silly to run the side into the ground.

Yep we were poor defensively at the end but thought as Slot said we dominated after the first 10 to the last 15 away from home at one of the toughest places in Germany to go. At times we played some scintillating football - to my eye.

    All subjective I know..

Me too. As much as we give possession up easily at times there doesn't seem to be that frantic, heart in mouth aspect to our game that was often there under Jurgen. That "Jesus ref, blow the whistle" feeling.
Agree with Miller saying he's happy with the tactical change but not how easily we are giving up the ball, a simple pass to team mates seems beyond them sometimes. It's working out for them though at the minute so hey ho.

I wonder if Szobo will be rotated when Harvey is fit? He's been pretty much an ever present in midfield. The rotation has been good, Id be interested to know how Jones felt being benched after playing so well on Sunday though.

Suspect how he feels about it will largely come down to whether or not he gets the nod for the Arsenal fixture.

Tbf I am probably more guilty of this than anybody else, maybe I set the bar too high, but in my defence I do expect our players to have higher standards than mine.

As fantastic as our results have been to date, achieving great results does not preclude individual players from criticism, I must say it frustrates the life out of me watching players who are clearly capable of much better, seriously underperforming. I do accept everyone can have a stinker now and again but watching players consistently lacking focus, application and concentration during a game drives me nuts, because i have seen it all before and this attitude can spread like a cancer, see Man Utd, and so I am always mindful that our players who are underperforming have to be held to account.

It may sound harsh, but if we want to challenge and surpass Man City and Arsenal who have both set a very high bar, we need all our players when called upon to play at their very best everytime they are in the starting 11…

The fact we may have won the previous 11 games or not, is irrelevant.

I do have to say though Slot has well exceeded my expectations to date and probably scored 9.5 / 10 so far, so hats off to him for achieving that.

I do think Konate, VVD, Macca, Diaz and especially Gravenberch have all played at the highest levels, Trent, Robbo, Szobo, , Gakpo and Jota are playing well, but they all have room for improvement. Salah is posting really great numbers which gives him some leeway, but he is also consistently guilty of going awol for long periods in the game, and also being very sloppy in possession, so in my eyes, given his significant talents he also really needs to up the ante…

Harsh I know, but this is my beloved Liverpool I am talking about here, not Spurs..

Are we a great team, absolutely not.
Lazy, arrogant, sloppy, no team work, relied on opposition poor finishing, (yet again)
Arnie will lead us up the garden path with this attitude.
Players flicking, and hoofing without looking, and we got away with it again.
We have the squad to easily do so much better, but my fear is that the players are believing in thier own hype.
I hope we practice (good) passing technique and first time control of the ball.
If you look at the movement of Real Madrid in attack and defence, this is what I would be aiming for.
    Great results, make great teams.

Top of the PL after 8 games. One of two teams on 9 points after 3 CL groupstage games, 2nd to Villa +1gd better.
We've only 5 games left to play in a 36 team CL group where the team finishing 24th gets KO football đź«*, safe to say we look like making the cut
The defensive record has been boss. Not many goals conceded, xg conceded also low. A great start to the season. Tougher fixtures to come even high flying Madrid
3 games in a week, 2 wins and a performance due

Because certain players, are still beeter than they have show, and we can still do better.

Only takes a bad few weeks / month for it all come crashing down.

I hope if we're top and still doing as good as we are, in january if we can and a player meets the requriement, we sign and improve on the position we're in.

This squad is still lacking, even with the results, especially not far in the future, we need to look ahead, not behind or be content, strive to improve, which we failed to do when we won the league, and eventually is cost us bigtime with a knackered midfield.

Leave things too late, you get punished time moves fast in football especially, yes aresenal have not won anything yet BUT they have improved as the seasons go on, because they've not been content in the windows and spent money.

If he gets the same medals as Jordan he'll be doing well.
