On a more serious note, how good will we be when we can actually put together two good half's in one match…..
First half tonight was very cagey from both sides, but those two quick goals in the second turned the match on its head, from that point on we looked like we could score at will, Nunez caused mayhem but I’m afraid his decision making really is Sunday League level, but hey thats Arne’s problem, if we keep on winning who cares… bloody fantastic result.
I think people are going to have to sit up now and rethink their thoughts on the potential of this team under Arne Slot .. the narrative to date needs to be putvto bed methinks…
wow thought we'd win today but not like that fantastic.
Suggest to Slot, have your half time team talk before the game starts.
I was very disappointed with Leverkusen. I was excited to see what all the fuss was about, but they simply just stuck everybody behind the ball.
But we scored some really, really nice goals. We've scored some real belters this season so far.
Whilst obiously Diaz will get all the plaudits for his hattrick, I was really impressed with Curtis Jones (again). He was full of running, pressed well and found himself in pockets space all over the pitch. His pass for Diaz's first was inch perfect.
He's starting to look like the player a few of us thought he might develop into. He just needs to keep going.
Something, Something, Something, Dark Side
Jones: the new Gerrard....
(hides behind couch)
Just needs to keep doing what he's doing. He is difficult to dispossess, relatively risk-averse in his passing (usually a good thing, scenario-dependent) and makes himself available a lot. Very much a "Wijnaldum" type for me.
Hope he can nail his fitness/availability. So valuable for us.
