There are a number of teams who throw themselves to ground at the slightest contact & whine like fuck when they don’t get a decision for something that was never a foul Villa are one of them, it’s pathetic

What a pity Southampton haven’t scored one goal fewer as otherwise our next opponents would have had the exact opposite league record as ours

Yup. The phrase “club legend” is overused but entirely appropriate for Salah. I realise that I’m looking through my red tinted glasses, but it’s staggering that he hasn’t won the Ballon the Door or whatever it’s called. He’s been playing in the Premier League (arguably the toughest league in the world) for 7 seasons and scored consistently throughout that time. Hopefully, whenever he leaves, we’ll get to give him a decent sendoff.

When Nunez missed the one v one in the first half, my lad said, if that had been Mo, we’d be 2 up. How right he was. And as for Salah lacking a yard of pace, try telling that to the Villa defence or the lad that got away with a red card.

As for tonight, decent game, amazing result. I’d like us to have a bit more control, but I’m constantly reminded that there are two Premier League teams on the pitch, they’re not plumbers or bin men, but professional footballers the same as ours. Overall, I think we’re controlling things a lot better than we did under Jurgen, even if it’s not as exciting.

Yep, that’s the change isn’t it?

We’re trying to control possession and the game to stop it getting away from us as it sometimes did under Klopp.

Yup, there was a spell in the second half where we must’ve had the ball for over 5 minutes, just knocking it around in our own half. I absolutely love it, but it did strike me as odd that we might be wasting our own time if Villa equalised. I think there’s a time and place for it, but at 1-0 with 40 minutes to go, I think a tad more urgency is warranted… I’m not complaining mind!

If only the rest of the forum would realise this, the place would be much more readable.

    Agree about Salah. Legend.

Enjoy it whilst we can because are best 3 players are leaving on a free soon lolz #FSG

Maybe we'll replace them with using the KFC bargain bucket (*Sponsored by yanks*) Crooked players for 13m on the cheap if we're lucky

I'm not complaining either. There was a moment in the second half where we suddenly went at them. And I realized this is Slot's way. Pass it if at the slightest the opposition lose shape, focus and or concentration then transition the tempo.

It would really be interesting to see Slot with his signings, he strikes me as a very tactical Manager alas Guardiola type. So his teams are well coached and drilled everyone knowing what to do and when but still allowing for individualism. He is clearly a top top coach/manager of man. Long may it continue.

Is there any update on Trent's injury? Can't find anything on it.
