3 good subs today at a critical time made the difference.
A point away at Arsenal is a great result.

It is, it’s not just the point for the late equaliser, it’s that it takes two points off a main rival at the same time. That second equaliser caused a three point swing against Arsenal.

Agree. It made a difference at a crucial point, a great result considering the first half but I think we fully deserved it.
We can't argue with how it's going. Been a better start than we could have hoped for realistically.

He's not afraid to call out the media and some support of other clubs flip flopped mentality either:

"What surprises me is that people say we have had an easy start because everyone… was telling me before I came here, there’s no easy game in the Premier League, and now all of a sudden there is.”

    Fantastic little moment that.

I'm dead curious about who he will sign in the future if he sticks around for a 3-5 year spell or more. Klopp did an excellent job with the squad he inherited and built it up over a number of seasons (the purchase of Mane and then Salah really got us rolling) and so far Slot has been working almost entirely with lads who were already here. I am in no rush to see our DNA change too much, but I am definitely very curious about how the side will tweak/evolve whilst juggling the incremental replacing of some of the players most synonymous with the Klopp years and the relevant leadership framework.

Lads like Alisson, Van Dijk, Robertson, Trent and Salah are arguably the "core" group and there's a very real possibility that all will be gone or about to leave within 3-4 seasons (eeeeep!!!) but we do have some lads coming through who show signs of being able to take on certain mantles in their own way - Konate, Mac Allister, Jones are all lads who may eventually take up those types of roles if all goes well.

Then of course you wonder in a more general sense about how the side might look with different individuals. With all the talk of Trent's contract situation for example I often try to picture how the side may look without him and whilst the creative loss would be big, I also wonder just how tight we could be at the back of Konate had a man to his right who was as defensively-minded as he and Van Dijk are. Is there a world where (in a footballing sense, not financially) we see a big player's departure as a door-opener rather than a disaster?

There's a lot ahead for better or worse for Arne and if there's something to be said for all the upheaval and evolution (not revolution) that lies ahead, it will certainly be engaging and keep us interested.

As good as VVD, Salah, Trent and Robbo have been, yes they have all been amazing and it’s difficult to imagine our team without them, but Man City have been more successful without any of them, than we have been with them, harsh but true.

We just need to find different solutions…Keegan left, Kenny arrived, Rush left, Aldridge arrived, Torres left, Suarez arrived, Gerrard left, Henderson and crew took over and look how that panned out.. history and our anthem has told us, We just need to Walk on…

We've now scored more goals under Slot in 18 games than we did under Hodgson in 31 games....

42 under Arne, 41 under Roy....

Next on that particular list is John McKenna, who saw his Liverpool side score 116 goals in 36 games.....

Klopp was right in his last talk to the players

"new energy new influences" giving a boost...

    Seems like that.

Arsenal in 22/23 and Newcastle in 95/96 are the only 2 times in the Premier League era that a side with a start comparable to ours have finished second.

The other 7 times, it's resulted in winning the League. Three of those were from Man City, two from Chelsea, one from Man United and of course our own Premier League win.
