Yep, just Fulham for me out of the three. Endo can play a couple and MacAllister can’t play either tomorrow or v Fulham so he can play v Southampton.

Yeah I'd love to see Endo getting more minutes.

I understand a manager not overly rating a player, but I struggle with the idea that Endo is deemed SO bad a fit that he only merits 20 minutes of Premier League football this season.

Mac Allister's enforced break probably not the worst thing and Elliott hopefully on the verge of getting more minutes.

He's a good bloke and we must surely be able to get him more minutes than he has had so far. I was all in favour of not starting him for any serious games but we need to rest players who have been almost ever present. IF Endo is the best this club can muster for rotation...then so be it

Don't think he'll be around after this season , nailed on we'll be getting a new midfielder in the summer, surely.

Same as CB possibly LB and a forward, but can you see FSG buying 4 players ?

be very interesting what slot does in his first windows, and how he gets on with the owners, we might not get a new forward we might give Doak a go, depends if Nunez or someone else leaves, I'd even be open to selling Jota if he spends most of this season injured again, as good as he can be if he hardly plays all season due to being out, what's the point.

Maybe CB&CM this summer, and forward&LB next summer, but who knows we might need more by then

We need a mid this January clearly IF endo isn’t worthy of minutes. Are we going to run players into the ground again? Will we ever learn?

    100%.

Let's say for scenario's sake the club are looking at addressing getting a midfielder in the Summer, or that we try-and-fail to get our ideal target because (whoever it is) won't release them mid-season due to their own ambitions - either way, end result being no midfielder in January....

....if that comes to pass, I won't entertain the idea that Endo can't be trusted for even.....five(?) League games from the start, even if it's with a view to him coming off after 70 minutes or so, to enable some rest/rotation.

There's got to be three Anfield matches against mid-table opposition and maybe two matches (home or away) against sides that will likely finish in 16th or lower where he can be used. I totally understand not going with a midfield three of Endo, Mac Allister and Elliott against a tall side, but a Japanese international can and should be able to be used alongside two of Jones/Mac Allister/Gravenberch so that at least one of them gets a few matches off at key times.

It's hardly like fielding 10 professionals and a prize winner from the crowd. We can and should use him at some stage.

Yes I think he's off in the Summer for sure and will make way for Zubimendi or a Zubimendi-alternative.

Don't foresee 4 players from FSG imminently. The midfielder I think will be top priority, then left-back I think will get addressed for planning Robertson's eventual succession.

Centre-back needs to happen at some point to future-proof the position, but we won't sit with five on the books and I see Gomez going nowhere as he is versatile - a loan for Quansah?

Forward I don't think gets addressed in a hurry as the team seems to be getting set up to enable getting the best out of Salah, with Núńez/Jota having to engage more in the pressing side - neither player gets many shots on goal these days compared to under Klopp. If one of Jota or Núńez had to leave, I'd begrudgingly say farewell to Jota - no use being the better finisher if you miss a couple of months every season.

It's mental. It's not like he's an absolute pleb. Excellent in the League Cup final in a team full of kids, bossed City's midfield at home last season. Is he a long term solution, of course not. Can he fill in, absolutely.

It's clear that Slot doesn't rate him and I'm sure he'll be moved on in the summer, if not January.

I am fan of the way the club generally goes about it's business in the transfer market, however, I do wish they would buy for the Starting XI more often when these situations arise. Instead of replacing Endo with another 6th choice midfielder to make the numbers up, go and get a first choice player. Impossible to do on a regular basis but is something we need to be better at.
