FT: Viktoria Plzen 1-2 Man Utd

    From the BBC....

Ruben Amorim becomes only the third Manchester United manager to win his first two European matches in charge of the club, after Matt Busby and Alex Ferguson.

Tottenham remain the favourites to win the Tournament - should tell us everything about the standard this season.

Hopefully Athletic Bilbao can win it.

    Ipswich beating Wolves.

Wolves aren't going to have the easiest time of it this season. They need to get goals into that side and fast. They don't want to see Crystal Palace (or anyone else) down there pull away.

Just a note on the side who are chasing us down - Chelsea.

They've drawn 4 and lost 2, so that's 14 points they've missed out on thus far. If they were to drop a further 14 points between now and the end of the season then they would finish on a very respectable 86 points.

I must say I think they'll fall slightly short of that as their defence shows signs that it can be got at, but they do have the advantage (of sorts) of being in the weakest of the European competitions and thus being able to rest some of their key players in the latter half of the season.

Will we remain in the hunt?
Will they be our main competitors?
Will Arsenal, Man City or anyone else start to reel us in?

It's beginning to shape up. The business end (12 or so fixtures left) of the season is where it's at, but there's plenty to hold the interest at this stage and it's definitely exciting.

If I had to put money it now, Wolves are definitely going down along with the Saints.

But I think it will be Palace who will head down with both of them rather than Ipswich.
I think Ipswich have just enough about them to claw their way to staying in the league, while Palace seem to have a shakiness about them.

At our end of the table, I really hope we don't fudge up this opportunity since both the main rivals for the title in City and Arsenal seem to have major foundational issues about their teams this season (City with their midfield stemming from Rodri's absence, and Arsenal's lack of a front threat and a proper out-and-out reliable striker).
I suspect Pep will figure out a solution of sort if the Sheikhs don't swoop in, in the January window to buy him a(n expensive) band aid -and they'll right the ship sooner rather than later and have their customary usual Jan/february run of games winning everything in sight. The question is, are we going to be far enough ahead of them to be able to withstand it?

Chelsea, i have the same doubts (and questions)about as everyone else. But that doesn't mean I'm completely dismissing them.
