Well they scored the time after that and it wasn't because he was in an attacking position, it was because he blew up his assignment.
At that point he wasn't playing the inverted role. He was supposed to be defending and even if we take accept your argument that he wasn't in a position to cover Iwobi in the first phase, then what was the excuse for not tracking back to help defend the middle?
Yet another thing he's done repeatedly, and criminally so in a game in which we're a man down.

That was a frustrating match. A point is ok given the circumstances, but we caused our own problems, never mind that the ref was desperately trying to screw us over.

We could have increased the gap on Arsenal, but as it stands Chelsea could well close the gap on us, and worryingly they currently look the best side in the league.
