Dominik Szoboszlai was involved in four of #LFC’s six goals vs Tottenham.

    - 6/8 duels won
    - 5 recoveries
    - 2 chances created
    - 100% tackles success rate
    - 100% dribble success rate

And a goal and an assist.

Not sure about these stats - 100% dribble success? yet when running free and under no pressure instead of playing a simple pass to either Mo or Gakpo - both in position to score on receipt… he loses the ball and Spurs should punish us. 30 seconds later they do.

Played a great game - one of his best this season but not sure what constitutes 100% dribble success after watching his infuriating inaction - and gifting of possession - on 39 mins 55 seconds - it leads to us being totally turned around while committing men forward. 30 seconds later - admittedly due to poor play from Macca - we concede. Both Macca and Alisson stopped play (should play whistle)

Great result don't get me wrong, watching highlights if we didn't slack it could have been 7-1 8-1 but I ain't complaining. some slack defending and giveaways doesn't matter like.

Bitter sweet watching trent salah vvd, thinking even just one of them might not be with us next season, sad.

Really starting to think this is our season, and it has to be, because we don't know what will happen with the contract situations, and what a send off it'll be for whoever leaves.

Spurs good in attack, but that back 4.... is like I don't know man utds level

    It's one of those technicalities.

Dribbles with statistical analysis are attempts made to beat a man, so if Szoboszlai dribbled past 2 people today (for talk's sake) successfully then he could have a 100% dribble success rate.

It doesn't quantify the mazey, jinky sort of stuff that a Ronaldinho, Hazard, Baggio or even Coutinho could do necessarily.

Fair enough. So you can attempt 1 dribble.. get past your man 1 time and it’s 100% while you surrender possession 3 times out of 3 simply running with the ball - giving it away due to a poor touch or a lack of scanning and that stat isn’t measured.

Possibly why Spurs were so poor despite having twice the success rate as us at dribbling in the game. 10 v 5

It is a funny old game in stat land - when you can pass it 2 yards left or right to a team mate 8 times and make a 100% pass success rate while your team makes 10 passes - 5 of them leading to gilt edged chances while 3 are intercepted and he gets a 70% pass accuracy rating.

This is where certain stats can, at times - lead us astray.

Interestingly and possibly key to the win in a game where most stats were equal…Spurs lost the ball 43 times in their final 3rd while we did that only 25 times. Also crucial we won 61% of aerial duels (Virgil likely a huge factor).

    at least according to this:

    Basically, yeah.

Stats are great but always need to be interpreted correctly or understood within a context.

Using percentages like that rather than the actual figure is something they locked down on at one stage regarding exams as schools were having 3 people do a certain subject and they might have a "100% pass rate" of 3 people, so they started having to include the actual figures (3-of-3) to provide the proper context and rightly so.

    Only Diaz & Alisson had a 100% dribble rate. 1/1 each. Sobozla was 50%, 1 from 2.

There was a cohesion, synergy, freedom and joy in our play yesterday. Also the work rate up until 5-1 was immense. In my view in recent years that was up there. This team looks like one that now believes they are that good. The movement and freedom that Diaz played with even Grave there was a cheekiness about Liverpool. A swagger. Everyone was oozing confidence and self belief, not one player was scared of the ball or in hiding.

I was impressed, there is a long way to go, i still feel Arsenal and even City are going to be the one's most likely to surmount pressure on us, Chelsea has a next season kind of feel, they are going to be challengers next season as well. If Mo and Virg remain injury free we are celebrating in May.
