Might even see Jones at 6 with Gravenberch rested. On paper this is the fixture to rest him, don’t fancy resting him away or v the Mancs

Get the win no excuses
I have issues with the discipline when Jones & Sloppy both play, both get too far forward wrong side of their man too often and make us easy to counter on

I just read that Nunez, Szoboszlai, Gakpo and Gravenberch are one yellow card away from a one match ban in the first 19 games so that might dictate rotation
Yea but is the thinking try and get each player to the 19 game mark without another booking or just to try to ensure any 1 match bans occur across different games. We are given a pile of yellow cards, some quite harsh, especially to the midfielders. I also wonder if the yellows reset at matchday 20, even though we'll only have played 19 by then with the postponed derby.
It often feels like our lads get booked pretty much every time there’s a free kick but the opposition can kick the crap out of our lads and nothing happens. Look at Sunday, some heavy fouls went in on our lads but the only players booked till the 80th minute were Gakpo and Szoboszlai
The players will know their situation, I'd imagine they all want to play the Man Utd match at Anfield so they may well duck out of any fifty fifty challenges against Leicester and West Ham and leave us exposed lol
As for any reset the suspension threshold changes from five yellows gets a one match ban to ten yellows gets a two match ban up to match 32.
I'd have Ian sat in the stands with Kenny for this one. Not overly bothered with the 11 that start.
Stop over thinking time between games, yellow card situations and who's reffing/VAR....
All teams go through the same things throughout the season...
Merry Christmas... YNWA
