Sadly he’s only in this position right now due to inaction from the club. But he can’t hide behind that entirely.

Faced with a one time chance to go to the holy grail of football - Los Blancos… at a time when his mate is already there…. and his head is understandably turned.

Somewhere along the line - perhaps due to that shocking failed attempt to sell off the club (a prelude to the appearance of the latest shill to infect the forum) and with the chasing of PGA and lord know what other franchises they’re he’ll bent on acquiring - the owners of the club just dropped a bollock on all three,
Trents last tuppence was he wanted to see the club match his ambitions.
Constantly challenging for the big titles at LFC, and currently top of the leagues with the club that made his dreams come true.

Personally I'd like to see the club anounce contracts will only be signed during the transfer windows, January/Summer and not for comment in-between.

I must admit, I read that as something else initially.

Liverpool will have offered him around Ł200-250k a week. Up to Ł12m a year over 4 or 5 years, so Ł50-60m just over the next few years alone. He does not need to leave to become extremely financially secure
    I don't think it's about money.

If Trent is intent on leaving for Real then sell him tomorrow then take him back on loan until the end of the session.

It is a short career playing wise. Maybe he thinks this is his last chance to go to Madrid. If he signs on again he won't get a chance to go there. So he is going now. Fucks us over as he is going for free but he is 26. So another 4 years with us and he doesn't get to experience Madrid.

Why he wants to go to Madrid instead of staying at his boyhood club. That's only something he would know. But somoen on here (I think Steveo) has often said, very few turn down Madrid. Unfortunatly this may be the case with trent.

If course right now, nothing is done so we are all just projecting because of a Madrid bid.

The most important thing for @LFC in 2025 is winning the #PremierLeague
No one’s contract or future should come in the way of that!
I love Trent as a lad & a player, but his team would’ve told Real Madrid to bid & also would’ve known LFC would turn it down.
It’s to try & cover themselves when he leaves for free.

Again it’s something the club/fans don’t need with a huge game coming up.

    Exactly how I see it.

I hope he stays but if he goes he goes.
Agreed, can't deny him wanting to try a different league.
The free thing sucks but I think it's mostly on the club for that happening.

Hope Salah and vvd stay though.

According to David Ornstein Salah and Van Dijk are expected to sign new two year deals.
