Apparently we had an offer for him from he Saudis (Ronaldo's club.) before they opted to go for Villa's Dhuran (ironically).

We turned down the offer (and Darwin was willing to take it since it would have more than doubled his current wages and he'd be going to play for his former manager who brought him up in the Portuguese league), because the club felt we needed him for the title run-in and didn't have the time to get a replacement.
