Can you see anything occurring that is suddenly going to get us to revert us back to playing how we were earlier in the season? I can't.

Having a thin, not as strong as suggested squad that is being flogged to death, I fear that we won't revert back, never mind that each subpar performance we put in is going to sap our current lack of confidence even more.

And Arsenal continue to chip away at our lead even when they're not playing like today.

If they win their next game (which they should) it's down to a 5 point lead from the 9 points (with the game in hand played and won) we thought we had a couple of weeks ago.

Let's just hope that we can somehow turn it around and reverse the slide before that lead disappears to nothing and even more.

We can afford it. That isn't the issue. The issue is that FSG are businessmen that are only interested in our club in terms of us being an asset that can be used to further their other business interests.

We have needed a couple of additions every year, but that hasn't happened. If we sign a couple of players each year we're still going to be playing catch-up as we're likely to have at least a couple of outgoings every season including 'retirements' i.e. not being sold which means no funds being brought in, which then means even less investment and so on and so forth.

One positive is that we created plenty of clear chances in that game. It was a lot better than recent games and Villa didn't really have many clear chances despite always looking at threat.

On a side note. Real are going to win that CL again aren't they.

If Madrid don't win the CL this season, Barcelona or PSG probably will. The draw for the CL is on Friday. If we draw PSG I think we could be toast. They beat Brest 6-0 tonight. Even Benfica would currently fancy their chances against us.
