Michael Owen (who I don't listen to for the most part, but do when it comes to forward play) spoke on him before and something I agree with is that Núñez can do really difficult things (like consistent clean connections on volleys) really well at a pretty consistent level, yet has things missing from his game that you'd expect a 14-year old to have sorted.

So much of it seems mental with him, whether that is a lack of intelligence or a lack of emotional intelligence or both. In an alternate timeline I'd love to see what someone like Rafa Benitez could do with him.

Hope he doesn't fade into obscurity like Balotelli or fall further into meme territory. I could see him performing well in Serie A and then back at Benfica.
