The main thing is we keep a clean sheet against the Saints.
The PSG tie is still in the balance. I rate our chances of progressing at 50%

We will need the help of the crowd for sure. Slot has already asked for that ad the end of last nights presser.. Alisson can’t be expected to do that again.

However Paris have been far less impressive away from home - interesting game. Hope it doesn’t go like Atletico did the season we won the title. Young side PSG - am hoping that lack of experience counts

Aye it'll be very interesting to see how it goes. Usually we expect to dominate pretty much any team at Anfield but they're technically outstanding and our midfield was bypassed last night. We were nowhere near them and just couldn't keep the ball, only started a little retention when we brought Jones and Endo on.
I'd back us to win but I can see PSG scoring.

I say at least 70% chance we got through now.
Slot should watch the game back and be angry with the teams shape.

On reflection, last night was without doubt our worst performance of the season, Alison’s 10/10 performance aside, unfortunately it was against the best team we have faced all season…a combination of events that has probably painted a very sobering and bleak picture ahead of the return leg at Anfield.

Now was our performance as a result of PSG’s dominance all over the park, or was it because we were just rubbish on the night. I would suggest their confidence grew with each of our misplaced passes and our confidence to execute even the simplest of passes, equally got worse with each of our misplaced passes ...

So credit were credit is due, I would suggest that PSG simply did to us what we have been doing to other teams for years, last night could have easily seen us score wise be as embarrassed as Man Utd were exactly 2 years ago…. but on that occassion they had De Gea, thankfully last night we had Alison in goal…

Hopefully, Arne and the squad can regain their composure against Southampton with a win and then combined with the Anfield crowd behind us, and a tweak of our tactics we manage to put on a performance more reflective of our talents, than we did last night… fingers crossed eh…

I thought it was more us being downright poor with the ball. Really, really sloppy. I actually thought we defended fairly well considering how much pressure we were under. But that pressure was built up by continually giving the ball away in bad areas and not captilising on the good postions we occasionally found ourselves in.

There were a good few occasions, where a good pass would have seen us in. Szobo and Mo were particularly guilty of wasting a few glorious chances for a breakaway. Thankfully we did eventually find one and fair play to Nunez for his tenacity and calm head to find the right pass and a good finish from Elliot.

I can't see us being as bad again in the return leg. PSG will be dangerous, and they were very good last night but we we'ren't at the races.

    Fully agree.
That was a performance that if it was Mourinho or Ancellotti it would be lauded as a master class. It's an away performance that Ged,Rafa or Paisley would have been proud of. Against a fantastic team we got a result, under the cosh yes but defensively we didn't do much wrong.
There weren't many if any chances where they sliced us open. There were shits from range and balls that flashed across the goal mainly.
Like you say much of the surrendering of possession was down to ourselves, poor decision making when not under pressure. A lot of the time we got the ball up top almost too quickly and the final pass resulted in losing the ball. We weren't patient enough
PSG were quality though, can't take that away from them. If they keep those players together you could easily see them winning the CL soon enough.

Hopefully a little fuel for the team talk prior to the second leg -

Asked if they could win at Anfield, Enrique added: “Of course! We are going to do it!”

He's not being petulant or snarky, just backing his team - but still, good motivation.

Come on folks.. A "master class"? I assume you fellas are joking or just mocking the super fans?

A fantastic result away in Paris against a very young side that completely and utterly outplayed us in every department except between the sticks.

Their goal - was a thing of beauty and an inch offside?. 7 times in 10 Konate walks so early in a game we could have been 2 or 3 goals behind in.

Alisson = master class.. and yes but for him we get totally smashed.
