Whether any of us think the squad is or isn't strong enough, I think it's pretty clear that Slot has made his mind up on a number of players.

I think we'll see a pretty big overhaul in the summer.

I can see the likes of the following possibly/probably moving on in the summer -

    Nunez
    Kelleher
    Elliot
    Tsimikas / and or Robbo
    Nunez
    Chiesa
    Endo
    and maybe Gomez.

And obviously not forgetting the 3 Amigos.

There's maybe enough to rustle up £200m, with maybe another £100m to put towards it. If we have to replace VVD and Mo, Like it it or not, there are going to have to be some 'astute / budget' signings as £300m isn't going to go very far replacing nearly 10/11 players.
Id be amazed if there is as that much overhaul.
A new LB is a certainty. I think it'll be Kerkez, he'd be a great signing.
Gomez and Kelleher will go too I think. Marmalade has already been signed to replace Kelleher. CB wise is anyone's guess, Geuhi will be obviously in their thoughts due to reduced price.

Nunez/Jota/Diaz are all players who could see the door but for different reasons. Chiesa nailed on to go.
We definitely need more goals in that area, David Lynch said something pretty accurate. Our attack has too many support acts and not enough stars.
Isak would be most peoples pick but we have been linked with a few in Europe who would surely be cheaper and with Isaks injury record I don't see us signing him.

Endo will be upgraded, he's not done anything wrong we just need a better more mobile/technical player.
We've been linked with any amount of mids, could be anyone. Not even sure who else there is like Zubimendi - The ball playing number 6 Slot wants.

It doesn't bear thinking about if all three left, I'd be shocked if that happened though. FSG leave themselves in a pickle if they do.

Although I said I'd be amazed at the overhaul you suggested I've said pretty mythe same. Ah Lolz.

What should we do, leave him on the bench to give the opposite team a chance?
Those players play for LFC and saying if we didn't have them is daft because we do have them and they're outstanding.
It isn't the squad players that have cost us, the squad players are the ones who ensured we left Paris 1 up remember.
PSG have been building that team for a long time all the while cooking the books and pretty much destroying the whole transfer system. They should have an outstanding squad after what they've spent.
    That's no slight on Liverpool.
Sobozla & Salah were 2 of our biggest issues over both legs.

Slot picked his favourite 11 last night in much the same setup as 1st leg. We needed to adapt to playing them, our shape & Sobozla 10 a disaster 1st half 1st leg.
Watching 180 minutes of failing better over 2 legs, instead of changing. And it still took shit penalties to go out to a tidy side.

Nunez involved in 3 of our last 4 goals benched for Jota by Slot, not me. 442 with Jones starting right & Diaz left of a 4 man midfield. Freeing up Mo from defensive duties.
Slots selections over these 2 legs & Southampton bizarre.

All in all, we got close to getting past them. But we should take a massive share of the blame for why we didn't. Been an impressive debut season from Slot, Enrique got the better of him over the 2 legs.

I'd have Jota out before Núñez.

I can absolutely understand people disagreeing with that, given Jota's history of intelligent finishing and Núñez having high-profile misses, but I am thinking a few things -

    - Age is one factor
    - Rate of injury is another
    - Pace on transition is a big one...

As the side has changed/aged in certain positions, we're becoming a somewhat more possession/patterns-of-play side. Nothing inherently wrong with this, but I don't want to see us rush to sell anyone that can contribute to "Red Arrows" mode when we get chances in transition, especially in Europe.

Think of the high-flying "five" we had under Klopp. We had Firmino/Mane/Salah complimented by a wider, more-eager-to-run Trent and Robertson while was still at his Red Bull best. Sure, Firmino wasn't a lightning bolt, but he was able to bring others into play and they could bomb past as he complimented the attack with clever choices as to which spots he attacked.

Fast-forward to now and we don't have the same explosive running in the full-back pair, Salah isn't as quick (and is more selective with his running) and I wouldn't call Jota a flying machine. Chiesa has injury history so is unlikely to show what he had when he was 22/23, Diaz is fast but tends to skin players with skills and exploiting ricochets moreso than raw pace and Gakpo isn't as quick as, say, Mane.

It'd be brilliant to see another quick forward come in whilst getting pace in one of the full-back spots too, or a midfielder with a good engine. I don't want someone who is quick but can offer little else (no Moreno clones please!) but I'd be very cautious about selling our fastest forward just now, despite certain flaws in his game.

Sid, I'll always give players time and I'm not afraid to admit when I make a misjudgement on a player. But he's been here 3 years and he's just not show enough. Other than pace and effort he just doesn't have enough else to his game. Certainly not worth the £60-80m we paid for him.

If we get anywhere near that in the summer we should absolutely be taking it!

Well obviously every player has a price where you say "okay, take that" - and I am not saying we should build our entire attack around him etc - just very hesitant to think about shifting our fastest attacker at the moment - though I take your point.

Spoke to a few at the match and they were saying the atmosphere was poor for such a huge match.

Have to face facts - the makeup of the ground on a match-day is changing. half the folks on the Kop are my age.. a growing percentage of the ground is now corporate...day tripper seats...

This means more.. lot's more.. Like the NFL - the long and the short of it is REVENUE..

    The rest is totally immaterial

It amazes me how so many overseas (not including Irish) get so many tickets. Hotels on the docks are pre booked solid with Scandinavians .

Because they'll pay whatever it takes Ian. You've got people selling their season ticket for one game that pays their ticket for the whole season. You can't blame them in that respect. Southampton tickets last week were going for 175 quid. For fucking Southampton!
The distribution is ridiculous, I'm not sure how it gets changed to make it fairer but the current system is bullshit.

100%. You do wonder if it gets to a point where clubs will gradually whittle down season ticket holders to a bare minimum. More tickets for corporate and abroad fans = moneyyyyyy
