Yes - Diaz looked every bit that before his double knee injury - sadly not at all since.

None of our forwards are anywhere near the standard of Mane Bobby & Mo in their prime or anything approaching that level. Jota, Nunez & Diaz can all go, we need better, much much better Chiesa needs more time & a full pre-season he’s better than that three as his goal showed today

Get my man Williams in 😉

I think of there's one criticism of Slot this season it's his lack of trust in the squad players. There's surely no doubt that Chiesa could have been used much more than he has been. Endo too but on the other hand it's hard to criticise when he's done this well with a squad where he hasn't had any of his choices brought in.
Slot seems to blackball players occasionally if they don't have a good game. They can find themselves outcast for weeks.

We don't make too many signings so I'd prioritise centre forward another 8 and left back

He does blackball players Chiesa has been looking very good in his cameos thrn he froze him out entirely after the Ply
Outs defeat in a makeshift team that no-one performed well in

Yet Jota’s been shite all season & he keeps picking him for the biggest games

How about giving players a chance playing with our 10 best other players

Diaz has 9 League goals for us this season, which isn't bad - though unfortunately I think (I've tried looking this up to confirm but sadly can't) they're across a poor spread, with something like 5 of them coming in 4 games or something akin to that, with something like half of them coming in the opening games of the season.

We're very unlikely to do anything like sell 3 or 4 forwards in one window, but perhaps selling 2 could be something that happens as part kf trying to facilitate an upgrade on the attack.

Salah is the one almost everyone wants to keep. If we look at the rest in descending age order, it's -

    - Jota at 28, turning 29 in December
    - Diaz at 28, turning 29 in January 2026
    - Chiesa at 27, turning 28 in October
    - Gakpo at 25, turning 26 in May
    - Núñez at 25, turning 26 in June

I'd probably be most actively looking to move on Jota (goals drying up, injury history) and Diaz on account of their age - but it's not the simplest. With Chiesa we don't know how high-risk he is long-term with his knee, with Gakpo we don't know if his "ceiling" is high enough and the issues Núñez has in his game are better-documented than most.

It'd be great if we could drop the average age of our attack whilst increasing our goals+assists output outside of Salah. Someone like Isak has the world at their feet right now, but I am sure we could find two forwards capable of playing in more than one position who could be upgrades on (for example) Jota and Diaz and would be in the 22-26 sort of age range so we don't store up future issues of a bunch of lads hitting 33/34 at once and all needing simultaneously replaced.

I'd also hope they'd be pacey. Whilst our possession game has arguably improved, my biggest pet peeve when we regain the ball at the edge of our box (or just a little outside) is how we seem to have lost that threat we had on the counter. Salah isn't quite as quick as he was (understandable) and our truly rapid player (Núñez) isn't as clinical as we'd like - I'd love to see us still being able to enter "Red Arrows" mode when it's on whilst still maintaining the ethos that Slot has instilled in the side about controlling the tempo as truly top sides can do both.

There are only a few players that should definitely be kept as a result of them generally being good enough to be starting almost every game. Unfortunately we have a lot of players that need to go from being a starter to being on the bench, whilst others already on the bench or just part of the squad need to be moved on.

Attack needs a rework like the midfield did.

Especially if salah goes, Diaz nunez and jota will need to leave, and we'll need players that actually can score and stay fit.

We'll have to surely keep at least one of the above, we won't make that many changes, we'll probably make one.

    Of course chiesa too..

I'd sell Nunez now if I could. I don't want to see his useless arse in a LFC kit again. Most of the other attackers will stay unless we get a big offer.
VOTE JOCKY tae fix this fiasco.
