Yep. This is 100% on the club.
Total incompetence how they've allowed three of our best players to get within months of their contracts ending.
Too busy concentrating on important things like Amazon documentaries.
If we manage to keep the other two then it's kind of acceptable but if we lose two or god forbid all three there is absolutely no way of dressing it up other than it being a fucking disaster.
It's pure incompetence,no getting away from it and I'd love to hear how they justify how it's happened.

Another 3 Amigos lineup minus Real bound Trent and the 3 most key players of all - 2 of which may or may not be here next term.

Player Win % With Win % Without Drop-off
    Salah 63% 50% -13%
    Van Dijk 67% 55% -12%
    Alisson 65% 52% -13%

A pal of mine made an interesting point that Salah and VvD haven't been linked with any other club. Trent's been linked with Real fir a long time.
I'm personally hoping it's because A) they've already signed and B) clubs know there's little chance.

There will be rhyme and reason to all of it I guess and maybe Trent is being allowed to go because there's a plan in place. It's just particularly galling losing him for free to those parasites. Losing a fee will hurt FSG more than losing the player.

Virgil has been linked with Saudi and a big financial offer from PSG, I think.

When he falls on his arse.. I don't want him back at our club in 2 years.. hes been a complete nob.. hes not been the same player in the last 2 seasons. hes offered hardly anything going forward and hes been terrible at the back. We had the situation of someone allowing him to play inside in the middle.. that was put a stop too this season by Slot.that wont have helped Trent ego

In the last couple of seasons TAA has increasingly looked like he can't be arsed. His end product has been nowhere as good as it was and his defending not only has been as subpar as it has ever been, but at times he's put in even less effort when it comes to rectifying any mistakes he's made, or trying his utmost to close down players, especially those who have gone past him.

A lot of people are expecting lots of our fans to have a meltdown, but I think they'll find that a lot fewer Reds are as heartbroken at TAA's departure as they think or hope.

Personally speaking, as soon as a player flutters their eyelashes in someone else's direction because they think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, I hope they fail in a spectacular fashion once they leave our club e.g. Coutinho. This counts double if they join a rival or a club we have serious issues with.

If he doesn't hit the ground running he may find out in the words of Darth Vader that "Real Madrid fans are not as forgiving as Kopites are".

Shame bradley isn't fit, even if trent gets back before end of season..... give him a sub appearance to say bye, but that's it

This is the issue for me, bradley. Trent wants to go, off you go, but we are not getting a fee. Can't reinvest that into the squad.

Bradley is seen as tenets successor but is never fit. We need to sign a starting right back if trent leaves. If Bradley's injurybrecird clears up, brilliant, we will have 2 good options. But relying on bradley to be starting right full for next season is a risk.

    Agree with this.

The good news is, relatively speaking, that getting a right-back, on paper at least, isn't one of the trickiest positions to fill, versus getting an elite centre-forward or goal-keeper for example.

For months I have sporadically heard that Ł300k-per-week was something Trent wanted and given his rate of goals and assists has overall gone DOWN I can see no need to invest so heavily (via wages) in Trent when there is definitely a right-back out there who is -

    - a better defender than Trent
    - will take Ł80k-per-week to Ł150k-per-week
    - can make Bradley the rotation option, which takes pressure off Bradley's injury/recovery situation
    - is a better fit for what Slot wants

Trent's departure, while unwanted, doesn't cause me any stress at all, relatively speaking, compared to the departure of someone like Alisson, Van Dijk or Salah. The key thing will be getting the recruitment right.
