Konate has recently bitched about never getting man of the match. Looking for a big pay rise, whilst on a regular basis has a few brain farts in a game. He goes through spells of having niggly injuries & not looking fit. He’s no way a 200k a week player.Originally Posted by justme

Based on his last few performances he could count his blessings if he was getting £80 for playing in those matches, never mind £80k.
Only three of our players are 'worth' the kind of money that Konate is asking for. If he wants close to that or he'll leave, we should start looking for a replacement, though we really should have been looking for and bringing in a number of decent defenders for a few years now.

yep agree with both of you.You can kinda understand his beef in some quarters when Chiesa doenst play and hes on 120 grand.. Hopefully a compromise will be able to be agreed

An in-form Konate is worth £160K per week at least. When he looks at robbo, trent and vvd he justifiably thinks why am I on less than half (or a 3rd) of everybody else in this back 4. He's a French international. Him, Diaz, (Bradley in 2-3 yrs) and Szobo will all be expecting big raises.

He’s a french international that was overlooked in tournaments - also dropped for tactical reasons at HT with France losing 2:0 in Zagreb after a shyte show.
Was benched for the second leg too as France levelled up the tie 2:2 in Paris and won on pens.
Konate can be a liability - his decision making is poor - his technique questionable and his injury record is hardly encouraging

But he still our 2nd best cb. As other shave said, he is paid poorly compared to others that don't contribute nearly as much as him. 200k is a lot for us. So we probably need to sell, and buy a better quality cb and give the 200k.

Agree. The issue for me is his consistency. He goes up and down all the time. Sometimes he looks absolutely outstanding for a while then ( like now) his form goes downhill and he looks like a walking accident.
In my opinion if he's after 200k a week then the club have a decision to make. Id be disappointed to see him go but for 200k a week I'd say there's better value out there.

Marc Guehi is a name that we're consistently linked with. Can't say I often watch Crystal Palace so how good is he? He's only on £50k a week at Palace so will likely accept much less than £200k
