Usually it's not a bad thing but when you're losing the quality of Trent it's an issue for me, also it's a constant theme with the owners and at times ( this being one of them) I think it's detrimental to progress.
And gomez has a poor injury record. So he will probably be missing for a chunk of the season.. Actually so does Bradley. So we are starting with Jones at right back then?

If trent goes, we need to sign a proper right back that is fit and of quality.

Gravenberch agent saying some stuff about loving for Gravenberch to join Madrid. But right now know it's impossible due to the fee we would request.
Why even say that? Angling for a pay rise?

I really could see right-back being Bradley/Gomez/Jones next season.

I'd love us to buy a right-back, love to - but I don't want us to eat into the budget "for the sake of it" if we are buying someone distinctly average - I really don't think the market for right-backs is all that strong at the moment, hence my reservations.

I don't want us spending Ł35m (made-up figure) on a right-back that is maybe a 6/10 performer for example that eats into the budget of areas that need addressed more urgently, such as left-back or centre-forward or strengthening the quality in depth of our midfield.

Maybe the budget should be increased to account for the fact we will need a right back due to us losing our starting right back on a free?

    Just a thought.

If we decide they are our right back options, we could be in trouble very quickly.

Jones is not a right back and Gomez will leave.. apart from that we have a player in Bradley that right now has a lot of injuries.. we need cover.

so far in my opinion we need a left back, another defender a right back.. another centre midfielder to help out Gravenberch..
and probably 2 forwards..If Darwin leaves will mean another number 9. I can see Jota staying. unless we are offered a lot of money..

I’m expecting Jota to see out his contract, mugging us for a wage whilst laying in the treatment room.

In my opinion there are 7 areas within our current squad that improvements are urgently required.

However, given that it is unlikely we will witness this scale of transfer activity, the question then has to be, what are the more pressing Transfer priorities that we must address in the Summer.

In my honest opinion I think this Summer we need to Prioritise in this order, the following areas with New signings.

    1. New Left back, Robbo as back up / competition and lose Tsimikas.
    2. New Right back as Back up / competition to Bradley if we do lose Trent.
    3. New CF, New Centre forward, keep Jota in the short term, lose Nunez.
    4. New CB succession planning / competition cover for VVD and Konate, lose injury prone Gomez.

However, not sure we will make 4 signings this summer, but we did a couple of seasons ago, so maybe we will again.

The following positions to be addressed in the January or Summer Transfer window of 2026, but in the meantime, the following options we can consider to strengthen next season from within the Club.

    5. Back up DM. Give Bajetic his opportunity to shine, keep Endo.
    6. Back up RW. Give Chiesa and Ben Doak more opportunities to shine in lesser games.
7 Back up AM. Give Elliott more opportunities to shine and cement his future at LFC.

Hey ho…opinions eh, like a*******s we all have one.
