Last time we won it by beating Spurs at home, I was in 3 different queues to get in but the gates shut as I got to the front each time.
Devastated I walked back across Stanley Park to sit and listen in the car which my Father and his two mates all with tickets .. had parked the car.
Was happy enough as we won. Think I was about 13.

I was in the kop myself that day, mate. I was 15 at the time their with my dad. Stood on the Kop from 1.30 for the 3 o'clock kick off. Peter Beardsley scoring the title winning goal if I remember right.

1981-82 we beat spurs 3-1 at home to win the league, finishing 4 points above Ipswich.

Think Ian might have his seasons confused.
