Rivals in what sense? If it’s in the traditional sense - it’s usually identified by size of club and Proximity also the history between them…. For Instance keeping it strictly to Europe - Chelsea became big rivals to us in the CL for a good while -
How many 2 leg quarter or Semi finals have we squared off v them in recent years?
You could say any top European club is a rival of any other top European club in a football sense depending on the status quo at that time.
But Dortmund are not big rivals to us - just as we are not big rivals to Real. Not in terms of clout. Certainly not when we are talking about capturing players.
We can likely overpower Dortmund on transfers just as Real can squash us like a jelly and take ours for free.
For the record we won 2x European cup in 40 years.
Real have won 9x in 26 years.
We have 6 titles in 2024
Real had 6 titles in 1966. - that’s when Ramsey’s Engerland won their one and only WC on home soil. Russian Linesman - They think it’s all over.
It is now…![]()

I've said we are one of the big5 clubs in Europe. And our European rivals include those clubs in and around us.
You seem to disagree, but seemingly cannot identify a club you consider a European rival...
Real, AC, LFC, Bayern & Barca make up the big 5 clubs in Europe.
We've played each and every one of our rivals in the CL this century.
For the fool on the hill who seemingly has no clue why Real are unique. Who has been sleeping all these years. Who cannot accept the obvious and refuses to face reality,
Real Madrid stands out as a unique football club due to its extensive history of success, particularly in the European Cup/Champions League, its global appeal, and its financial strength, which allows for significant investments in players and infrastructure. The club also boasts a strong culture of winning and a global fanbase.
Here's a more detailed look at what makes Real Madrid unique:
1. Unparalleled Success in the European Cup/Champions League:
Real Madrid has won a record 15 European Cup/Champions League titles, more than any other club.
They were the first club to win three consecutive European Cups (1955-56, 1956-57, 1957-58) and also achieved this feat again in the 2010s (2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18).
This dominance has established them as the most successful club in European football.
2. Global Appeal and Fanbase:
Real Madrid's image and success have made them one of the most widely supported clubs in the world.
They have a large global fanbase, contributing to their significant commercial and financial success. The club's international signings and multicultural approach further contribute to their global appeal.
3. Financial Powerhouse:
Real Madrid is a major revenue-generating club, according to Deloitte's Football Money League.
They have consistently been among the top revenue-generating clubs in the world.
This financial strength allows them to invest heavily in players and infrastructure, which contributes to their continued success.
4. Strong Club Culture and History:
Real Madrid has a rich history and a strong club culture that emphasizes winning and competition. They have a long-standing tradition of attracting top talent and building successful teams.
The club's values, including solidarity and social responsibility, also contribute to their unique character.
5. Iconic Stadium:
The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, their home ground since 1947, is one of the largest and most iconic stadiums in the world. It has hosted major events, including European Championship and World Cup finals, and is undergoing further renovations.
6. Galácticos Era:
Real Madrid's "Galácticos" era (early 2000s) was known for signing high-profile, star players, which further boosted their global recognition and financial standing.
While this era brought a lot of attention and success, it also involved careful squad building and a focus on filling specific positions rather than just acquiring stars.
In summary, Real Madrid's unique combination of historical success, global appeal, strong financial position, and a winning culture has established them as one of the most influential and recognizable football clubs in the world

So Thiago was a “cunt” for leaving Bayern then…![]()
As I mentioned - you could claim ANY top European side to be the rivals of any other top European side. It changes every few years and isn’t a genuine rivalry like Liverpool United or Barcelona - Real. These sides don’t play in the same league and any comparisons are made based on recent history. I gave you Chelsea - they were our biggest European rivals for a good stretch…. Inter Milan were one of the big 5 not that long ago - what about Ajax? Juventus….? United…? Are they not big European clubs…. Clueless.
Go to bed sleepy head. You’re coming across as uneducated, thick, or both. And incapable of accepting reality.

^ I've used this article to show you have g.nev opinions on football.

This thread showed how I prescribed analysing transfers. I used this analysis to predict Klopp would finish above Chelsea last year![]()
It goes above the sky/g.nev analysis. Thread closed without you being able to provide a noteworthy reply.
Was great blaming FSG for the spending gap between LFC & Real prior to their purchase of the club...
When it was shown FSG had outspent Real since their takeover.
Well that didn't suit your ends so you decided they were incomparable after an analysis of spending under FSG showed your claim to be factually incorrect.
1 What's hilarious is you brought up Real Madrid greater spending since 2000 compared with LFC.
2 you used these figures to bash FSGs tenure
3 I pointed out they didn't own the club back in 2000, 2001, etc
4 when I broke down the spending between Real & LFC under FSG, the records showed we outspent Real, gross & net since FSG took over.
The big gap prior to fsg down to the ownership prior to fsg.
5 unable to hold yourself accountable, you imagined this unique Madrid line.
6 an accountable person would just admit they were wrong.
7 You decided they were incomparable and only a fool would compare them. You've carried on that way since.
Much like your squad assements over this season.
That's the reality.
Go ask a Bayern fan. Thiago brought in a fee and left. I can't really tell you what Thiago said about Bayern that would make his departure feel treacherous to Bayern fans.
I've given you a list of the top5 clubs in Europe.
If you cannot identify 1 European rival of LFC. Maybe you don't believe there are European rivals at all.
Im still in gasp over the comment CCTV made that Gakpo has had better season than Salah![]()
