    You disagree then Kev?
You don’t see a CF or CB coming in as well?

Theres rumours of Wharton from Palace.. he would replace Endo in the squad.. we'll have 2 players for each role then.
DM Gravenberch/Wharton... 4 players for 2 places in centre midfield.. Szoboszlai/Macca/Wirtz Jones..
I wouldnt have a problem with letting Jota go if you can get Wirtz to get goals. a long with the other midfielders. As long as we get an out and out qualify forward to replace Nunez..

oops and we'll have 2 right back options.. Frimpong being more versatile and can play more further up on the right.. means right now we don't need cover for Salah. And obviously 2 left back options.. Kerkez is much better option than tsimikas

Easily recouped from our long list of outgoings.

CB, CF and possibly DM still to come then.
Very encouraging figures, especially when we bear in mind that we spent similar when we brought Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister and Endo into the fray in the same window not very long ago.

Main thing for me will be picking and choosing the outgoings carefully. We have so many positions where, even if we don't terribly rate the back-up lads, we have two for spots.

    Chiesa for Salah
    Elliott for Szoboszlai
    Endo for Gravenberch
    Tsimikas for Robertson
    Núñez for Jota

    - and so on. I just hope we can maintain that - I don't want to see us enter the season with 5 forward players instead of 6 for example, to accommodate Wirtz coming in.

that's what we need, but it means spending money Miller

I just can't see FSG suddenly splashing the cash when under Klopp they didn't ???

although we should have money there, after the last windows, you're right will recoup a lot of money IF we sell the players we want to sell, that remains to be seen how many changes, and out's we'll have, we're not really known for doing so many changes. even if we we could do with it to improve the squad

We'll see, but I agree with you totally that's what we need- I just hope if we get Wirtz we don't neglect other areas, CB will be a problem soon one injury we're in trouble, and can't expect VVD to play every minute anymore, and obviously a striker that's fit and scores would be brilliant for a change.

Not to mention konates contract situation- if he doesn't sign sell him, can't be arsed with another trent saga, then we'll need 2, gomez is never fit and can leave in my opinion- same with quite a few of them, a few just simply aren't good enough for a title winning side either, hence the lack of rotation and when we did rotate..... it showed.

It's so weird, to win the title yet needing a lot of changes still, we're at a bit of a crossroads with the current team.

I don't think we'll sign a DM, even if we could do with one if we're getting Wirtz, we'll probably have enough options even if not ideal- bajectic will probably replace Endo, unless we sell him too.
    Maca
    Grav
    Jones
    Szob
    Wirtz
    bajcetic

Ideally we'd get a top DM but.. who starts in 3? if wirtz is playing more of a AMC with Grav/maca.. then you have Szob/Jones/Bajcetic on bench.. who drops down again if we get a star DM ?

Unless we don't buy a forward and play wirtz as a false 9, interesting summer ahead.

Don’t disagree kev, perhaps I’m being unjustifiably optimistic that FSG will now invest in the right way having seen the massive drop off in income when we don’t get Champions League football.

Then of course there’s this ridiculous farce of a new summer tournament where participating clubs receive something ludicrous like £80m

Anyway, we’ve sprinted out of the traps, let’s hope we finish the job and don’t run out of gas too early.

After this summer rebuild we are going to have to focus on life after Mo and Virgil. Cliche it maybe but I’s not just spending money (look at Utd & Chelsea) it’s spending it in the right way. Alisson and Virgil broke records for their relative positions but boy was it money well spent.

There is definitely going to be an extensive squad reshuffle this summer, it’s going to be really interesting to see who survives this, how much money is generated through these sales and how much of it is spent, and how much, if any, FSG actually add to the Transfer spend.. interesting times this Summer methinks.

With regards Bayern, selling your best player to one of your nearest rivals is not a good plan in any league, but in Germany Bayern have been doing this for decades and so it’s become the norm, so if LFC do eventually sign Wirtz, it will be nice to see Leverkusen bucking that particular trend…
