It's got a Torres vibe about it for me. Having one of the best young players in the world wanting to sign for us.
That hasn't happened in a while.

Mad thing about 'Nando was that he was bubbling in La Liga rather than truly boiling - 13 and 14 goals respectively in La Liga in the two seasons before joining us, then he scored 24 in his first season in the Premier League, which is quite the jump.

He was "on the cusp" as it were, which funnily enough is so often what we have looked for under FSG. Wirtz is (probably) a safer bet, so-to-speak, than Torres was.

As an aside, Torres is one of a few players that played under Rafa that I really hope end up having some sort of opportunity with coaching at Liverpool - even if it isn't necessarily the first-team, with Kuyt, Alonso and Mascherano also being on the list.

All I said for example is I hope we don't neglect other areas of the squad still, and be short, no matter how good wirtz is it'll cost us otherwise.

Imagine if we're not so lucky with injuries outside the usual Jota and co... do you want Quansah playing half the season?

How about Endo in midfield half the season?

How about nunez as our main striker half the season?

Fancy konate leaving on a free in the summer because we're desperate and have to keep- if we don't sort contract as new CB coming in.

List goes on..... we're not winning the league if that happens.

Hate to break it to yous but salah & vvd getting older, can't expect them to play every game, and not get injured also wirtz doesn't solve all the issues

so we're talking a outlay of over 200m already, before a striker, or a CB or a CM to help grav/maca comes in.

Very strange how Klopp never had this suddenly to spend ? Maybe we're expecting a big sale that we don't expect, who knows we're defo going to have to sell after Wirtz though to get anyone else.

I can't see us getting everything we need, I just hope it doesn't cost us, once again that's not me moaning about wirtz, i'm rather excited about the prospect but it's not really FSG's or our way of doing things, so it's rather surprising- the lads gonna have a lot of pressure on his shoulders because of this too.

if we don't get a CB this summer, we may have to spend a lot next summer too..... just on CB's, same with the attacking situation, Elliot Jota, Nunez even Salah over next few seasons need to be replaced, or in salahs case phased out a little, he's not going to go on top of his game forever, future will be here sooner than we think sadly, same as VVD
