Yep... The problem with counting goals by appearances is that it really isn't too clever. IF you know the game - you can see what Luis brings...and it's far more than that presented by overly simplistic stats. He was instrumental in Salah's form this season - a massive part of what won us the title....but you won't find that without looking far deeper. Amazes me that so many don't see it.

    Rest assured the Spanish do..

Totally agree, eye test for me is far more important than stats, I can remember when Rednapp was playing in our midfield his passing completion stats were amazing and Cantona’s were awful…difference was Rednapps were mostly backwards and sideways, Cantona’s were killer balls when they came off..I know which one I prefer…

Unfortunately, stats trump actual reality these days.. unfortunately there is very little context applied to them..

I can understand if the club cashes in on him as he's probably worth a good bit in transfer terms. He's at his peak. At the same time, it's never nice to sell your best players and he definitely had a good solid season with us. Jota should be sold first but how much will he fetch?
From the moment I picked your book up until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend on reading it. Groucho Marx

That’s from Gorst tho - the geezer is a sucker for a planted story. “understood” in journalistic terms means - I have heard it from a source - but am not putting my name on it.

Answer this mr Gorst … why was Diaz asking for £150k a week back in December then IF he is already on £140k..?

Something doesn’t add up, Most reputable sources say around £55k.

If that's true surprised it's took this long for him wanting to leave.

Especially when we're spending over 100m on one player now.

    it's a mystery.

If he's on £55k a week, he's on the same again or more on bonuses...
Not a hope in hell he stayed on that money these last 3+ years...
That £140k pw contract is coming from multiple sources, and plenty of them...

Anyway, doesn't matter what he's on, it looks like he's off if our price is met..
Fofana or Rodrygo wouldn't be bad replacements...

Dunno if either will be right for the club - it’s a shame with Diaz he was brilliant until that injury which became a clusterfuck by our medical team at the time - we rushed him back without the surgery needed - he then broke down again and finally had the surgery he needed initially - lost 12-18 months of Diaz then his parents were kidnapped - bad luck there. Last season we glimpsed of the original Diaz. Hope the next club doesn’t see his best years.

Maybe best if he does move on but we almost had another Mane

Yeah, it indeed was bad luck, pity...
Yep, it really does look like it's time to part ways. Feck his father, who's a big push on this situation. Great thanks to the club who supported Luis through the kidnapping at the time. Only for pop to literally burst out of captivity and proclaim his sons love for the Catalans.... Ballache...
