Just a quickie - is this to say that you don't believe climate change is occurring, or that you don't believe it's human-influenced, or that it's real but there's hyperbole and exaggeration around it?
Purely curious - absolutely not here for 15 rounds on the subject as it's one of those where people deeply entrench - but am always interested in different people's stances on the subject.
I quite like Palace as a Club, no problem with them. As for costing us titles.. they only did what they are supposed to do and play their best to take points from us, which they have fair and square.
I've broken it down before on here, it's quite simple to recap.
Doubling the co2 level produces an increment of warming.
280 to 560 producing the same increment of warming as 560 to 1120.
The state/corporation typically present 4 models of expected increase in global temperature for the doubling from 280/285 to 560/570 ppm.
1.5 degrees of warming, 3 degrees, 4.5 degrees and 6 degrees.
The historical record & science supports 1.5 degrees of warming at 560 ppm. So models are lent on to generate outcomes all above reasonable analysis.
We are currently about half way through the doubling from 280ppm to 560ppm. 420 ppm for 2020 say.
We have seen temperature increase by 1 degree Celsius. Nasa expects a little over 1.5 degrees of warming.
The UN expects there to be 450 ppm by 2040. Using this 30ppm increase over 20 years
2060 480
2080 510
2100 540
We would expect to nearly double the co2 level by 2100. And the planet would likely be 0.5 degrees warmer than it is today.
1st world per person's carbon footprint is about 40 times higher than 3rd worlders.
2nd world per person's carbon footprint is about 20 times higher than 3rd worlders.
Essentially you can see GW is a largely 1st world problem.
But there are positives from GW
World's population more easily fed.
The world's greened.
The planet is catching up positively but not adapting as quickly as we are increasing the co2 level.
The next ice age offset by 400,000 years.
The ozone is healing quicker (not assisted by air travel)
Fishing - should be restricted - see Rupert Murray? End of the line, Atlantic, and how boney fish filter co2 from the water and calcify the oceans.
Flights/Tourism being reigned in would help - essentially air travel is a very small section of society jet setting around the place perpetually.
More farming and land regeneration ala Alan Savoury methods.
Id say that's an accurate and reasonable recap of the reality on climate.
Giorgi Mamardashvili makes his Liverpool debut today, while fellow summer arrivals Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman are on the bench.
Mohamed Salah captains the Reds at Deepdale.
Liverpool: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Szoboszlai, Salah, Chiesa, Tsimikas, Gravenberch, Ngumoha, Bradley, Stephenson, Nyoni.
Subs: Woodman, Pecsi, Endo, Nunez, Jones, Gakpo, Robertson, Doak, Kerkez, Frimpong, Nallo, Koumas, Morrison, Pilling.
No thread for the game. All things considered a pretty good 45 minutes from our boys. Pretty emotional atmosphere at kick off.
Couple of things I noticed..Ngumoha has kicked on since his cameo last season. His decision making much better. He's pumped a bit physically too (He's 16 ffs!)
Don't know if Frimpong is going to be a full back or a wing back, but on this half showing Connor Bradley is going to be pushing for first team starts.
Arne has been at the pies, but we don't mind that.
