I might be wrong but I don't remember anything resembling that type of article when City spent over 200m in the January window?
No - I can’t either - not from the beeb at least. but then there are a few good reasons why that might be.

    1. Liverpool are known to be miserly - relatively speaking - in pursuit of talent (Klopp himself attesting to have wanted to have been able to have taken more risks) so IF we land Isak that would appear to be a massive shift in the model.

    2. City were well publicised from the off as being one of if not the richest club in the world on the back of their dubious State ownership. Hence no article on how they can afford anyone..

The fact is the article actually highlights how frugal we were on Jurgens watch. It’s basically saying because liverpool have spent sweet FA they can now splurge and still remain well inside PSR rules.

So what about this rumour/story that is going around that Al Hilal, owned by the same Saudis who own Newcastle, might buy Isak for a huge amount of money, and then 'loan' him back to Newcastle.
They couldn't get away with that could they?

Hmmm... surely there are rules against that...

(So yeah they could get away with it!)

Isak was missing from Newcastle's match day squad for their friendly against Celtic, a game that ended 4-0 in Celtics favour. Eddie Howe insisted that the club were keeping Isak and that the Swede's absence was due to being sent home in order to manage the minutes he plays and because of the recent focus on his future.

This is all pointing towards the playing out of that scenario of Isak being sold to Al Hilal and then being loaned back to Newcastle. If that is allowed to happen the game is finished. Some may say that the game has been dead for years.

I feel the game has been dead for years. Another reason why absolutely no one had us down to win the league last season

Our 29-man squad for the Asia tour is as follows -

Goalkeepers - Alisson, Mamardashvili, Pecsi, Woodman, Misciur

Defenders - Van Dijk, Konate, Gomez, Tsimikas, Robertson, Kerkez, Frimpong, Bradley, Stephenson

Midfielders - Endo, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Elliott, Wirtz, Gravenberch, Morton, Nyoni

Forwards - Diaz, Nunez, Salah, Gakpo, Doak, Ngumoha

Bajcetic seems to have missed out due to not being fully recovered from injury, whilst it seems Chiesa's days at the club are numbered.
