Can our current squad be considered one of, if not the strongest in the PL

Looking at our new signings this year and the emergence of our young talents from within, is it fanciful to say that Liverpool now have one of, if not the strongest squad in the Premiership, especially if we do manage to actually pull off the signing of both AI and MG…

However, after watching the second game friendly game yesterday, as good as Gakpo can be, I do think there is an argument that in the 10 games home and away against the other Top 5 teams in the Premier League and especially in Europe, that Gakpo be considered more effective as an impact sub…rather than an actual starter.

Dont get me wrong, Gakpo is a great player, but he can be a bit predictable at times and against better opposition I don’t think he will be as effective as some of the other options we have within the squad…

It is going to be really interesting going forward to see how Arne Slot uses this squad, personally again after watching Szobo’s impressive performance yesterday, and like I have mentioned previously, i think there is a strong argument that with his pace, energy, power, and dynamism are we going to be better served to actually switch the roles of both Macca and Szobo…

If Arne did try this I do think it would be a really mouth watering prospect watching Szobo and Gravenberch supporting a flexible fluid combination of Macca - Wirtz - and Salah all playing behind either Hugo …or lets dream Isak…

If you then add in the running power of Kerkez, Bradley and Frimpong…bombing forward as and when required, to enhance our significant attacking options still further… it could end up being absolutely mind blowing to watch…

However, one thing is for sure, it’s going to be really exciting to see what sort of tune Arne can get out of this refreshed squad…

can't see us getting Isak LW and CB

best starting 11, depth not so sure we are short this is before nunez leaves

Surely we wait until the window closes for this conversation BPF. If no one else comes in, it’s nowhere near.

if we spend 150m and god knows his wages on isak- do we have room for a few more ? surely we will get a CB Ekitike will play on left perhaps, and chiesa/frimpong covers salah on the right assuming chiesa will leave though, but does doak stay?

Let's hope we haven't adjusted the squad or first eleven too much.
Last season's squad wasn't too weak, we just needed one or two additions imo.

With all due respect, whilst the window still has several weeks to run, I think we can comfortably say that Liverpool have already probably conducted 85-90% of their Transfer business this window, and yes we may strengthen still further with the potential purchase of another striker and CB, yes we may sell one or two players, but tbf they will all be what Arne considers to be fringe players… saying that I understood but was surprised to lose Diaz after the season he had last season

Lets be honest were the best side by a street last season, and in this window I think we have significantly addressed all the areas of the squad that we were all concerned about before this window commenced and so overall, I do think we have significantly raised the quality of the squad, despite tragically losing Jota, and the loss of Trent and Diaz..

With regards other teams in the Premiership, I cannot see too many of them, between now and the end of the window being able to make up the clear gap to Liverpools present squad..

    Hey ho, opinions eh…

We need 2 CBs and have lost depth in the left forward position so no.
