IMO Newcastle are making themselves look really small time. no player should be bigger than the club and if a player want's to go this badly, see you later mate.

They can't buy big because of PIf, so get your world record transfer fee an rebuild carefully.

Can I ask… why do we care how Newcastle are making themselves look? Maybe they are simply showing strength… or at least they assume they are? Doing so by indicating that they're prepared to let him rot rather than give him what he wants. It’s a possibility and one I suggest peeves us all as Liverpool fans because we know our owners would rather drown their own mother in law than lose out financially on a deal…

Sweden striker Alexander Isak, 25, has told Newcastle he still wants to leave for Liverpool despite the intervention of club chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan and a meeting with co-owner Jamie Reuben. Telegraph

Because we are being made out to be the bad guys. As is Isaak. And it pisses me off. What about when a club decides they don't want the player and sends him to play with the yoots through no real fault of his own.

    He said they said

150 million player who didn't get the new contract he was promised?

CB has to be the priority. Konate needs to be binned asap, he's a liability.

He definitely needs some comp. Defence has been trash from preseason to now.

I would have liked us to get palhinha, wouldn't have cost much.

Instead i hear we've offered £130m+ for Isak. He was a comparitive no one 2 seasons ago, turns 26 in less than a month with a not so great injury record.

At the top, they talk about "moving the needle" and Isak's goal output does just that.

25 goals and 27 goals (all comps) in his last two seasons.

Let's say we get 4 years of that (taking him up to 30) if we bring him in. Bearing in mind that winning the League is something we prize, don't do very often and when we did it last (last season) brought in about £175m for us.

Isak is the type of player that could potentially contribute to us getting one (or even two) League titles in the next 4 years and maybe a Champion's League as well - or at the very least deep runs.

Not to mention the pressure his presence could take off other attacking players - Sarah's output dropping off this season and next (if that happens) partly covered by Isak's presence, Ekitike not having to play every game - and so on.

That £130m, relatively speaking, could represent amazing value for us. I'd love a centre-back as well (ideally both Guehi and Isak come before Monday's deadline) but I don't think we can underestimate what having a forward of Isak's level could do for us.
