I think we would have been better served served signing a two good quality CBs and a top quality DM rather than spending a huge amount of money on Isak, Wirtz and Ekitike.

I hear this opinion a lot - and hey, you could very well be proven right. Historically, building a squad from the back has served many sides well.

Under Klopp we bought attacking players first with the intention of aggressively grabbing points. Slot seems very happy this season (early doors) to get us to be brilliant at creating and converting chances to compensate for any weaknesses at the back - "if you score two, we'll score four" and all that - and why not, the early Klopp seasons were certainly great entertainment, so if we strike the balance I will absolutely take it.

We're a bit off-balance right now - vulnerable to transition, attacking composition too biased to the left which isolated Salah - but there are encouraging signs there. Slot seems very.....I wouldn't say obsessed, but certainly "inspired" by the rotational positioning, speed and knowing "when to go" aspects of Enrique's PSG side and I think we'll see a lot of proverbial copying of the Homework from which we'll acquire a lot of points.

I think he’s far too young and inexperienced to be relied upon this season and other than cup games I hope we don’t need to use him.

Sometimes they're just good enough - Huijsen had it right from the off and it seems our recruitment staff feel the same with Leoni - hopefully they're right.

Always felt this was a non starter mate. Part of why I was so shocked earlier on. looks like details got in the way but - a medical in London…? As I have intimated before from where I am standing Guehi isn’t the keenest on the move up north. Loves the idea of playing for Liverpool but has a life down here. Always felt we would need to go out on a limb and pay over the odds - or at least show more determination to meet Palace’s asking price.

It’s a bummer - I doubt we land now. Looks like a great opportunity gone.

The way I see it, from the outside Guehi hasn’t really shown he wanted to come to us. We’ve fucked about over a couple of million and acting all cocky and leaving it to the last minute, expecting Parish to beg us to buy him for less money. I think we’ve missed the opportunity to sign him. Wouldn’t be surprised he agrees deal with Madrid Chelsea City in January to join for free at end of the season.
