12.5 million rising to 18 with add-ons not bad for a 3 choice keeper.. I have made my opinion clear on him. I didnt rate him. he played well enough when called on. But i think he's always got errors in him.. more than most keepers (just my opinion of course)

Aston Villa's obligation to buy Harvey Elliott for Ł35m will be triggered as long as he makes 10 appearances for them this season.

It's just worth noting for context that we (or rather the team) actually had a much better record and win percentage when he was in goal for us than when Allisson was in, during the seasons when both played in goal.

In Klopp's final season when Allisson was injured during the early part of the season, with Kelleher in goal we drove all the way to the top of the table with a great defensive record - and that was when City were still imperious (and would go on to win the title) and also against a very strong Arsenal side who ran them tight for that title raec to the final day.
Obviously that challenge fell apart in the latter part of the second half of the season after Allisson came back from his injury, andd granted it was more because we got a rash of injuries and simply just ran out of steam as a team, but it's worth noting that Kelleher did do the job when called upon then - including vital penalty saves in the domestic Cup we did win.

It was the same in Slot's first season, though Allisson was out for less time but in his time filling in, we were pretty solid in goal save for those brainfart moments you noted - which, to be fair, Allisson has a bunch of those himself.

In my own opinion I personally feel we've downgraded going from Kelleher to Marmashdvili as our Number 2 (only going by what I saw of him from the preseason. Never saw much of him in his previous club, I'll admit).
But I realize Kelleher was never going to want to wait out the prime of his goalkeeping years backing up Allisson waiting for him to finally step down to finally be our Number 1 choice and his move to get more playing time was always inevitable.

Thats fine, I just think hes got poor hand eye coordination... And when he saves sometimes. he jumps in a small rolled up ball shape. rather than extend his body to have more chance of stopping a shot either side of him.

Anyway again the season starts and after 3 games we have to wait a forthright for another match. Due to pointless international football. I don't know how anyone can be bothered with it..
